If anyone is interested in clear or smoked headlight strips/diffusers from
http://www.ricks2k.com/products/350zdiffusers.php
user pgh2atl said he would help a small group opening the headlights, and resealing them as he has done this before. So if anyone is interested add your name to this thread and we can set up a group install when we receive our strips.
This will save us money $200+shipping vs $55, time (no need to ship our headlights and drive around looking stupid), and we will get the opportunity to meet the local Z enthusiasts !! Once we finish this, i'm sure we can do something nice for pgh2atl, maybe bake him a cookie or something j/k
So I will start

Hey Guys,
Still checking with the guys who assisted me on opening mine up to see if they are willing to do a 'group opening' so-to-speak. If they aren't willing (due to liability issues), then I would be still down to help. I live in an apartment, so space is very limited for me. If someone is willing to host this event, I'll come & help.
One thing I was thinking of last night is that if we get alot of people in on this, we may need to break it into a group of sessions. I used the heat gun method to open mine, but its a timely process. I would need at-least 30 minutes each headlight just to open them. Re-seal requires reheating the adhesive & applying more adhesive to make sure the seal is good. The headlight will need to sit for at-least 3-4 hours before re-install back into the car, then another 24 (out of nature way) to make sure the adhesive bonds correctly. So as you can see, we may need to do 1-2 cars at a time since for my car alone it took me about several hours from bumper-off to bumper-back-on.
Plus, I will say now that would be an "AT YOUR OWN RISK" event. I've had success in opening my headlights & re-sealing them, but if something were to go wrong with someone else's headlight, I wouldn't want the finger pointed at me.

i'd definately be interested in gettnig ni on this. let me get this straight... the $200 is for the strip and to have them do it? nd the $55 is for the strip and then we can get together and install it ourselves, right?

That's right.
If we bring our own heat gun and stuff, we might be able to go a little faster.
DON'T FORGET TO BUY THE STRIPS BEFORE 9/1 !
Hey i just received my clear strips from Rick's They look pretty decent. They seem to have just the right shape to them. Anyone buy some ? I'm ready to open these headlights (reluctantly of course)
i'm in louisville, ky, right now opening a new restaurant. i haven't even seen mine yet. i'm going on the word of a friend that they look good. i'll be back monday, sept 19. so if we could do it after that... or if someone could help me through it would be awsome. thanks!
pgh2atl pm'd and said he may be able to join us if we set up a specific meet date. I wanted to wait to install some new bulbs i am going to buy soon but if people are still interested in getting together we can do this sooner.
