That's why I hate rain dates altogether, too much confusion and upsetting people.

The worst case weather report now is 60% chance of showers before 11:00 a.m. I want to talk to everyone at our meeting tonight, but my thought is if we are just looking at a chance of showers in the a.m, we just hold registration open and do awards later, we'll need time to get over the lunch that is shaping up anyway. What do you guys think ? I mean, it has supposed to have been raining for the last 3 days, and we have had some of the nicest days in a while !

Jason,

Moving things back in the day may help, especially for those of us coming from Down East. Unfortunately you probably will not know until Friday what the most accurate forecast is. Personally I like the rain date idea if the weather is iffy, but I understand not wanting to do that because people have already made plans and you have things organized for Saturday. Not that it makes much difference, but the long range forecast for October 15 looks good.

Keep us posted. I probably won't make the call as to whether I am coming or not until Saturday morning anyway when I see what the weather is actually doing.

Charlotte caravan is keeping a close eye on the weather. Since the forecast keeps changing (thanks a lot, TS Tammy!), we probably won't know for sure until tomorrow night.

Just an Update, If we can get the Word out, we may use the Nov 12th Beachblast as the Raindate. Stay Tuned.

Yes, but it had a very small turnout. We kind of expected that. Folks that were relatively close to Charlotte came out, but the long distance attendees did not. I'd expect the same to happen here. And to be fair, this tropical storm is dumping far more rain than hurricane Ivan did last year for our show.

Thanks for the update, Marty. I think I may be able to put a good spin on that idea with our club. We used to do a beach run each year, but did not last year and it looks like maybe not this year. If that happens, I can probably get a few more club members involved by selling it as your show + a beach trip. Keep us posted.

I thought the rain date was next Saturday, October 15. What is the latest word on tomorrow?

John, the word is that the show will go on... I don't think we had cleared the rain date with RPM Nissan, and having everyone switch-up this late in the game, we would probably end up with the same result, thus wasting two weekend, not just one.

We've already been planning the fall Z Blast in Wilmington, and it just (to me any way) makes better sense to give everyone another month to plan. If we do it, it most likely won't be a structured show as this was going to be - we would still like it to be much more social and family oriented than anything.

Having said all that, we are flexible and will adapt to whatever will maximize the attendance... the main reason we wanted to resurect the event was to bring some much needed attention to the Wilmington scene, thats been hurting for a club presence ever since Neal Leeper moved back to the Triad. So those of you IN and around Wilmington, this is for you!!

We will have the official word posted here by the end of the day. As of last night, we were planning to keep going, but it was supposed to clear up. Now I'm not seeing any way the weather will cooperate.

The 15th was floated as a possibility, but was never official, there were too many conflicts with it.

Stacy, Marty mentioned the beach cruise as an alternative because we discussed it last night at the meeting.

Stay tuned....

well if tomorrow is anything like today it's just the occasional sprinkle but not too bad. I'll be there tomorrow barring a torrential downpour as I pull into the lot.
