Default Aftermarket Wheels

Hi,

I'm new to this list and a new 2005 Z Enthusiast owner. I'm thinking about buying some aftermarket wheels but I have some concern about the tire pressure sensors.

If the sensors(valve stems) can be put into the new wheels, how accurate will they be? If the chances are that they will be inaccurate, what other problems can I expect to encounter, i.e. red lights on the dash?

If most of you don't bother trying to install the sensors in the new wheels and I don't bother either, will the computerized dash gauge just indicate a zero reading or again, will I get other signals that I'd rather not see blinking at me :-)?

TIA

I installed mine with my new wheels (TSW Thruxtons). Lucky for me, they mounted up just fine and they are still accurate. There are some wheels (can't tell you which) that won't allow the sensors to be mounted. If you haven't already do a search and there has been quite some discussion on fitting the sensors.

Good luck

Most 2-3 piece wheels do not take the TPMS because they have lump in the rim surface.
