Its really not too in depth if your only going to an HPDE all you really need is your car, an sa2005 or new helmet(not a motorcycle helmet), make sure I aren't leaking ANY fluids, get a simple tech inspection.... There's not much required.

http://www.nasaproracing.com/hpde/index.html

That should help you get started. Also start reading the autocross section of the forums. There alot of info on this. You can go into it simple and small or you can go all out!

I do, glad to help anybody that wants to get started in tracking/racing...PM me for advice.

BTW: anybody in Atlanta have a set of 4 stock z wheels with tires for sale cheap? I just need some to put on the race car in the shop...tire and wheel condition don't matter...just need to hold air and clear Brembo brakes.

I have the stock 17's. Not sure if they will clear Brembo or not. I am about to put them in the market place, as my Z was totaled by an illegal with no insurance. If they will work, let me know and we can work on a price.

1 rear tire has a nail in it and has a slow leak, other rear tire is good. 2 front tires are pretty much shot, but they are holding air. If this works, PM a price that you would want to pay, as I was going to put them on here and craigslist for $200.

Question for you high-end wheel owners. Where do you guys go to get your tires mounted and not have to worry about them fawking up your wheels? I'm hoping abarclay can chime in because I remember seeing recent pics posting around this forum for his new SSR debut

Anyone have experience with these folks?

Gran Turismo East is TERRIBLE - stay far away. I had a terrible experience. Broke the bands mounting my tire pressure sensors and made me foot the bill for replacement parts and alignment specs were worse after one of their $200+ alignments than before. Shop manager was extremely rude and unrelenting.

On my other car during a prior visit, he was unable to get the BFGoodrich's I had him special order to balance, so he put some **** tires on WITHOUT asking me and charged the same price. 15000 miles later I'm still on those tires and reminded everytime I get on the interstate how much they suck.

Butler Tire in Buckhead has not disappointed me. Maybe give them a try.

+1
Keith, you making it out to ZdayZ this year? I've got a room, but not sure if I can get off work.

Doh-Joe, I've got nothing but good things to say about Forged Performance too. They're one of the only shops that I really trust with my wheels. They handled my volks and my new SSR's with zero problems. Mutliple tire changes and no scratches or nicks on any of my wheels.

That's awesome. I already take my Z there if there is something I can't do. But I was not aware that they did any wheels/tires work too. Thanks for the heads up abarclay Do Forged do any alignment jobs too? If not, where do you guys go to do that? And thank you too dkmesa350z for pointing me to other direction
