3M clear bra quote from Autosupershield in Boca
My new Z is arriving tomorrow and I just called to make an appt. for the clear 3M kit but am now having 2nd thoughts.
The installed prices are $369.95 for bumper only and $664.90 for full kit. That's steep and probably not much less than repainting small areas. I don't know what the warranty is but will ask before making an appointment. Anyone pay less to get it done by them?

I drive an old Cherokee daily and the Z will be my 2nd car, but I still plan to put miles on it and would like protection. I'm just questioning the price. And what does it do to the paint over time when the uncovered areas get more exposure? Hmm.
I also want tint and they quoted $179 for the car - seems reasonable for 3M with a lifetime warranty.

3m is the best for tint and depending on what shade you are getting thats not a bad price for a clean install. I have 5 all around minus the windshield and I got close to that price from a guy I personally know who gave me a good deal. You get what you pay for. 2+ years and 0 bubbles plus very minimal shade and as you can see in my profile it's exposed to heat in either of my locales.

Pepi applied supershield on my 2001 honda s2000 and the first thing I did when i got my 2006 350z was to have him supershield the front end. He is one of the best installers around and is meticulous about all his work....take a look at his shop and you will see what i mean!!!! He backs his work and materials 100%. In the 5 years i had supershield on the s2000 there was not ONE chip where the supershield was applied. You will not regret having this protection on your Z!!
It will not alter the paint color and can be removed safely without damaging the paint!

Uh - I thought clear bra was not a tint, but actually a clear plastic that goes on certain body parts of the car to protect it from minor damage. This way when a small rock from another vehicle hits your car, your paint doesn't get messed up.
The price sound about right, but a little high, but I think it has to do where you live - Miami. I don't have it on my car, but if you like that new car look than you definitely should get it. I would put it on my car, but I care to much about adding more weight to my car than chipping some paint.

The weight issue is negligable.
Pepe only uses top quality products and the work is always garaunteed.
The front of the Z will pit so quickly you won't believe it. Its worth every cent.
I'm replacing my chewed up front end then taking it to him.
Believe me, you won't be disappointed.

the weight issue is negligable. If you look around, you will find that the paint job on the Z is not the best and you have alot of surface area that's going to get pinged up by debris everyday you drive. Its worth the extra protection, doesn't change the look or color of the car, and is paint safe.
I'm having my front bumper replaced as it is chewed up then taking it straight to Pepe. Top quality products and service. You won't be disappointed.

Sorry - I care about every pound on my car since I track it, infact I have taken out most of the ugly interior plastic. It actually looks better without it!!!

you should track in the nude.. it saves about 5 pounds of clothes/shoes.. and dont wax the car, all those layers of wax add up.. while your at it, take out ur AC unit, window washer fluid resevior, horn, and other things you dont need while tracking.. seriously, a pound of clear film wont slow you down, nor will it mess up your aero dynamic.. but wutever floats your boat
