Default For Sale items in the SE Forum

The posting of For sale items in regional forums is going against TOU #2. I understand that those who post here are looking for local buyers, but the ads should really be in the Classified section. I would suggest if you want to sell locally, I would put that and the location in the title of the ad. Since this hasn't been addressed before here, the first few pages of ads will be moved, but links will be kept here so others can see and get to them.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Does this apply to all regions? Or are we just unlucky that you frequent this one?

This isn't an ultimatum, just trying to make things easier to find and sort. If someone is looking for a bumper in Raleigh, which area would they check first. This will be across all the regions as we get people to monitor them.

(But I am thinking about stalking you)

Well if the seller isn't willing to ship, it makes sense to be in a regional forum as well. But that's just IMO.<-----Which means absolutely nothing.

So carry on everyone. Just wanted to ask and to make sure it will be implemented in all regions since it's MUCH more prevalent in other regions, moreso than the SE.

I am working up some guidelines, but here's the jist of how I think this should work:

1. (prefered) If you're just posting a link to a FS thread that's in the marketplace to let your local buddies know about an item FS, it's ok. If you want just a local sale, say so in you ad.

2. If you will only conduct a local sale ONLY, it's ok. But if someone says they will ship, it's a no-no.

3. If you've posted an item FS in both the marketplace and your local region, or in multiple regions, it's not ok.

Overall I am just trying to make it easier for buyers and sellers to find each other and help improve the search and site organization.

Item #1 and #3 seem contradictory.

Again, I'm mainly posting to ask that whatever "standard" you choose, that it be implemented throughout the board not just this section.

Note that #3 lists what's NOT OK.

#1 says you can post a FS thread in the MarketPlace and post a message in the regional forum linking to the Marketplace thread. #3 says you CAN'T post the FS in both the MarketPlace and in the Regional thread. In other words, don't put the full FS in the regional, just post a link to the full FS.

So you create a thread in the regional forum but only link to the FS thread. You don't include any further information? What if someone replied to your "link thread" in the regional forum, do you not respond by way of that thread?

Thanks for the help.

Makes sense I guess, just trying to figure out all the parameters. It doesn't seem like that big of a problem, that's why I was asking in the first place.

Is it a bandwith issue? Just about being better organized? Soley about complying with the TOU? etc................ I guess what I'm getting at, is, there seem to be more pressing things than this, but hey, that's just my

It wasn't an issue really until some people commented to us about it. I also had an issue with it myself when I did a market place search to find something and got 3 hits, then did a global search an found 12 of them, 8 of which were willing to ship. So why post it in the regional forums??

Are we suppose to do something like this:

https://my350z.com/forum/texas-marketplace/206581-local-texas-for-sale-thread-local-only.html

Or is that just for the Texas section or because an Admin. started the thread?
