Sunshine Speedway
A co-worker of mine mentioned that the Sunshine Speedway in St. Pete will let you race on their track, even timing your speed on the quarter-mile. He said it only costs around $8. I thought he was ********ting me.
Anyone know if this is legit?

Another Tampa Z here - although I'm sure I'm older (44) than alot of you guys based on the "wanna race" mind set - - just be safe on the streets - please - my family is out there with you.
Gotta love the Z though, can't wait for an ECU upgrade.

I want to make it clear - I'm not flaming any of you younger guys - been there, done that (street race) - I went on to race in the SCCA all the way to the national runoffs - - all I'm saying is find a "safe" way to have fun - - - believe me I'd like to run my Z up to 156 mph too - I just don't see I-75 or other public roads being the place - - try some sort of organized race group, you can't beat the adrenalin rush - -

Hey Lance,
I figured there was a few of us "older" guys - - lol - - What color,
type, etc Z did you get?? How long have you had it? I turned 4000 miles already, I drive from new tampa to lakeland everyday to work so the miles are going to add up - but that's what I got the car for was to drive, it's keeping me busy after work just keeping it clean - lol -
take care,
Steve

Steve,
It's a silver Touring with, mud flaps, mats, stainless kick plates, cargo net, leather heated seats. To be honest, I let my wife pick out the one she thought was "CUTE", and only determined what it was after we got it home. Bought it right off the showroom floor in Brandon without ever driving one.
Bit of a rough ride though. Considering changing the springs to smooth things out a little. I have only had the car for three weeks and have less than 500 miles on it, so, maybe the suspension will loosen up and give a smoother ride.
