Sorry Fluid, but we HAD to change the date due to CIN not being able to have us. Just come to the drift meet with us on the 3rd. I have never been to one and have always been skeptical of the motorsport, but after talking to a couple guys about it, it seems like something I could potentially enjoy.

No offense, but drifting is for fanboys, and there's no metered competition. Autocross is far superior IMO
Also, I have an open rear differential. And I like buying only one set of race tires for a whole season, lol.

What the hell is CIN? And why does the world revolve around them? lol

 

Count me in for the Feb. 10th meet

 

No offense to you either, but I autocrossed for 3 years with my miata and m3 and honestly got very bored racing around cones and working for 4 hours and getting 6 minutes of driving time, to each there own. Just looking for something new to experience.

CIN Motorsports is the the car shop we started meeting at during our meets. They sponsor and maintain Doug Van Den Brinks drift mustang and will be attending the meet in Greenville which makes them unable to host us on the 3rd. Thats why we changed the date.

Is that the place you got your car's work done/tuned?

How much seat time do you get at a drift event? What region did you autox in? Were you ever successful?

this drift meet u get all the seat time u want. from 9am to late night. doug (the drifter) said at these drft practicing if your there all day from 9-night. you can at easy get in 35-40 seats in the courase..thats 35-40 times to get a chance to drift i would be DRift king after that many times..

this is the list of the people comming to the Drift event onthe 3rd of feb. (that i know of so far, so just add your name to the roster. and me and derek will come up with a time to meet to all drive down or what not) be in mind the event is 9am. 60 bucks to get in the event. any later than 9am though u pay a late fee, and the fee is just a bump up in price to get in the event. which is 100bucks if late.
so we'll see.

Like Kevin said, the drift event will have PLENTY of seat time, enough to make you tired.

I used to autox with a club called Hightach Motorsports, www.hightach.com I was fairly successful in my M3, I was in BSP. I was a novice in my miata but because of my modifications, I was in street mod class and got my a$$ handed to me by far faster and better handling cars, better drivers helped as well haha. I picked up a couple of trophys at Knights Stadium, did a couple autox's at Columbia Fair Grounds, Asheville's big meet, the 24 autox at Eastland mall, Lowes motor speed way, kershaw, I got around to all those meets during my autox stint.

Don't get me wrong, autox is a good time, just kind of got tired of it after a while. I'm looking to get into high performance driving education courses now at Road Atlanta and VIR. I have done a couple laps around VIR in the Z before most of the mods and that was a good time.
