the really sad part is that the Z isnt a safe car by any means . But what sports car is ya know. Crash rating on the Z was sub par . SO take it easy people a crash of any speed in a 350z with a CF drive shaft FM platfrom and wheels being so close to driver low profile is a recipe for a fatal wreck compared to whats out there in other cars in general be safe people.

What? The cars crash rating is pretty good. Do a search. http://www.lotpro.com/cars/2003/nissan/350z/safety

+1 i think the Z's fatality rate is due to the driver's chosen speed at the time of the accident. Crashing at over 100 mph would kill people in any car.

overall the car for what it is isnt bad, but the problem is front impacts are never thourghly evident on the Z. Ans im tellig u look at every front impact crash on the Z. Majority of highway speeds front crashes in a 350z from what i witness from numerous deaths and accidents have a 350z literally totalled. i ahve allstate and my own agent said taht 350z are soda cans . They do have decent ratings but lets face it we drive a sports car. sports cars never really have the saftey of lets say a volvo s 60 or even nissan maxima.

why are you guys argueing over the crash rating of a z. this thread was started to inform people that there was a crash in charlotte that involved a z and that the driver died. if you want to argue about the crash rating then start a crash rating thread. And as i stated earlier does anyone know the person(s) involved, and are either of them members of this forum.

holy crap... please at least try to spell. Your agent looked at a report saying there were many 350z fatalities. Well, a Maxima driver typically drives differently than a 350 driver, on average. By no means is the car a "soda can."
