I bought piedmont dragway in greensboro, nc last year. We had a couple of guys from this board come to our first ever drifting event in December. I was wondering if we setup a Z day at the track if you guys would be interested. We have a few saturday's open during the year, where we'll have night events, but no day events. I could let you guys in for free and just charge to TNT on the track.

Is there any interest in this?

 

Yep, I am sure there will be a lot of interest. I would/may come depending on how far it is.

yeah, there is a free day coming up. If there is enough my350z members going, i'll go. I'm tired of seeing trashy cars up there. We need to bring some nice ones.

Well, I have to spend some time reading through this board and learning the "who's/who" deal. Our goal over the year is to offer some specific import TNT only. I'd like to highlight one brand/car at each one. So anyone that comes in with one gets in for free. Ideally, I'd like to do this on Friday night. You guys get a crapload of runs. We're real simple at a race track. We'll try anything and if people show any interest, we'll put some real effort into it. At the end of the day, it's what the customers are willing to do. Just ask the drifters about it. I'll be paving about 10k sq/ft of pit area just for those guys mid year because of the showing they've given us.

I was at the last drift event, and btw there is another on the 26th, and Mr McCandless was more then generous and seemed to show a true interest in the import scene. The dragway is closer to Burlington then Greensboro but really could not be any easier to get to. Right off of I-40 only a few minutes. Good parking and even better hot chocolate

Some of you should come out on the 26th for the practice drift day and check out the drag facilities as well.

The mccandless you met, is my brother Herb McCandless Jr. I had to deal with other business those days. My brother managed other tracks in his past. We'll make plenty of mistakes along the way, but we'll always try to improve

the track dayz mike is proposing is for future drag events. the drift day is the 26th of this month. sorry, didn't mean to confuse...just wanted to help get the track a little bit of exposure.

Peidmont dragway uses there parking lot and staging area for the drift events.

 

I would like to see this happen too!!! There was a pretty good showing of drifters in December even though it was very cold and rainy. Its nice to see a local track trying new things to get more people involved in motorsports. I've been waiting for a good opportunity to run my car down the strip, this looks like the perfect chance to do that.
