Road Course in Tampa, FL
Just wondered if there was enough interest for a road course in the Tampa Bay area. To those of you in FL, its 80miles west of Orlando, 250-300 miles North of Miami, those to the northeast. Its 10 hrs and some change from South Carolina, and 3-4 hrs from the panhandle of FL down. I am thinking the course would be around 2 miles long, turns and a big straight, a couple of ideas I am going off of are the following.
Gingerman Raceway-Michigan
Mid Ohio raceway- Ohio
Road Atlanta- GA
Road America- WI
Once again just trying to see if there was an enough of an interest to everyone here. I am thinking around 50-50 bucks a head, for 3-5 hrs of track time. Eventually there would be course instruction on how to go about racing your car etc. etc.
Lemme know thanks.

Yeah I have some investors that I can use, although I need to do some field work and see if the market is there. I know the process for getting the land, going to the state blah blah I just need to know if there is a great interest!

i'm all down for a new course in FL, but how can you integrate those elements from those tracks? sebring, moroso, and homestead are all fun courses, but have that standard FL flatness that a place like mid-ohio doesn't. also, isn't zoning going to be an issue? are you looking at pasco or hernando county?

Right now living in central Tampa it's a 2 hour drive to Sebring...that's 4 hours of the day wasted on commuting. There are tons of car clubs in the Tampa-St. Pete area that would likely be interested in holding club events there. You'd probably make a lot more headway speaking with them than you would on here but the problem is any car enthusiast will be "interested"...whether or not attendance is enough for you to make a profit is what your investors will want to know. What do you plan on presenting to them?

Well I want to present to them the idea of opening a road course, and possibly a drag strip right next to it for the drag guys as well. So far I have an engineer that I have known for several year drawing up ideas right now, with angles, turns, degrees, and how much it will cost to build and maintain. But yeah your right I need to see if the attendance would be there. The courses I have gone to are relatively cheap for test and tune compared to seabring I am told is upwards of 300? Thats just what I was told.

I don't think you'd have any trouble keep people on the track.... there aren't many options around...
