We have decided to rent out Talladega Grand Prix (tgprace.com). We are limited to about 20 cars so the cut off will be 20 cars (alternates can add their name to the list in case anyone drops out - In the event you have signed up and paid and you decide not to go, you are responsible for selling your slot). We must have a minimum of 10 people for this to happen...that means, at the most it will be $155 after the paypal fee, but more than likely $120. Atlanta folks will be meeting at the Chick-fil-a at Thornton Road exit of I-20 at 7:00AM EST, others meet at the track at 8:00AM central time. We will have the track until sundown, but you can expect to start wrapping it up around 4:30 or 5:00PM.

When we reach 10 cars Keith(Dkmesa350z) will call up TGP and reserve a date(We need to come up with a date somewhere around august since its so hot right now).

I just got done going there Friday and I must say I had a blast, but I'll be doing some cooling mods before I go tracking again. The track is hard on brakes and the right front tire since you'll be running counter-clockwise.

I'm not sure which brakes you all will be running, but I used oem brembos pads and rotors with super blue brake fluid and never had any brake fade. They did get pretty heated though along with the motor.

 

Yeah regular brakes get somewhat faded if your pushing them...Which I never did last time. ha ha

 

That's funny.

I hit 102mph with room to go and was nailing the brakes at the last two cones. Nearly threw my passenger out the windshield each time.

Haha that's funny. Noone there really went over 100mph if I remeber correctly I was the top one right at 101mph.
Some guy brought his supercharged vette thing was sick before it broke down because of a crappy install.

You know I am down for this! Must get better brakes before the event. I have been waiting for a chance to get on a road course. Much cheaper than a speeding ticket in N. GA.

 

That makes four and Im pretty sure Keith(dkmesa350z) will be coming whihc means 5. We only need 5 more before we can reserve it see if you all can find some people!! haha

 

I asked a buddy of mine with an S2K. He just put a turbo in so not sure if he'll have it tuned by then but he's prolly interested.

 

Alright sounds good I will ask my friend with an evo if he wants to come and I think I have a friend with an sk2 that was talking about going.

No brake upgrade yet. I have been stalking the brake classifieds page for a good deal on OEM Brembo's or Stop Techs. I just haven't pulled the trigger. I have been eyeballing eagletangreen's stop techs but $4k is a little much at the momment.
