Default Feb. 21, 2009 - Official Welcome Back Milton (TunedG37 now TunedC63) BBQ Meet

Date: February 21st, 2009 - Saturday
Location: Crandon Park, Key Biscayne
Time: 11:00am so we can get good parking spots

The shelter fits 40-50 people, has 4 picnic tables and 2 BBQ grills.
Doesn't mean we max out at 50, that just means if it rains, the 51st person will get wet.
Then again, not everyone is under the shelter at once, so I don't think we need to worry about this.

It's going to cost about $145 with $50 refundable deposit, so in the end it comes out to $95 after refund.
We need to make sure we don't leave the place a mess.

- Parking is $5.00 per car (vans are $10)

Thanks Jun, but I don't think we need to get there so damn early though, lol...I remember last time I went to Crandom Park at the end, there was a HUGE parking lot..and I mean huge back when there was a JDM meet down there when I once had my Z back in the days. maybe 11am would be better or so. Lets see what people think the times should be.

So far this is the list of people that were going to my house and with what they were supposed to bring. So I'm copying and pasting them on here. From this list we can simply build from. I don't know if we can bring beer though to the park. Can you find that out for us Jun? Maybe the people that are bringing beer, can sneek them in a cooler ofcourse. I dunno...

1. Milton - Me, Myself, and I, LOL!!!
2. WildWes - Hamburgers
3. Renshi - Hamburgers
4. GT47R - Plates and cups!
5. Jun - 12-pack of brewskies
6. A3VT 74 - BEER... and kool aid for those under 21
7. Zonda85- Burger Buns and cheese and some super duper capri sun
8. Artistik D - HOtDOGS!!!
9. MR350KV - Hotdog buns

I'm sure if it's not allowed, you can bring it in cans and pour it in a cup
Bottles/glass containers are never allowed for safety reason.

I'll let you know.

Yeah that's what I thought. Markham Park has the same rule.

And what do you think about the time? Can we change it to 11am or maybe even 12noon, instead of 10am instead? Like that people can start meeting up at their respected areas starting at around 10:45am or so to rollout to the park.

I think 11am would be good, noon is peak-time, we want to be able to get all the cars parked together, not all over the place, that's my suggestion.

So people can meet up at 10 at their respective spots, leave by 10:30-10:45am and get there by 11am.

Let us not be cheap and make this an enjoyable picnic. Jun, ask how much to rent one pavillion(?)/shelter will cost and we will divide it amongst the group.

Let us bring food people, or we might as well do the meet at Target again.

I will invite Miguel and Amy too, since they have been a part our group lately.

Kudos to Jun for this picnic, and take charge Meng.

Yes I agree with you Wes. Lets make this happen and have fun. Damit it's my welcome back pary meet/BBQ...Woohoo!!!! LOL!!!

As soon as Jun finds out how much it is to rent a pavilion, then with the amount of people going, it shouldn't be much per person. I say a week or two before the BBQ meet at Crandom I say we start collecting the money of those going. We can collect the money during one of the usual Sat meets at the Target.

And yes Wes, invite both Miguel and Amy. I haven't met them yet. Amy so far would be the only female going, lol...Where are all the women at?

I think inviting them is a great idea, I haven't met either of them and would like to see them at the picnic.

- Parking is $5.00 per car (vans are $10)
- Alcoholic beverages (except for beer/wine in cans or kegs) and gambling is prohibited. In other words, if you bring beer, bring it in cans.

Map:

We have to choose between Shelter #4 or #5 which are closer to the beach, as #1 and #2 (the ones between the parking lot and #4/#5) are taken.

What do you guys think? I'm going towards #4 because it's more centralized.

Let me know.

How about we park where I circled in blue. I remember back in the days when there was a JDM BBQ meet 5yrs ago when I had my Z, we had parked there. I remember doing this in that particular parking lot and someone snapped a picture while I was in the act. It was fun, but we better not do nothing crazy like that cuz we'll get banned!!!
