Default Atlanta with a 2 and 4 year old

Hey guys. I am heading to Atlanta for my sisters wedding on Sept 7-11. We will have all day Saturday to do something kid friendly. My wife and I with our 2 and half year old girl, and my cousin, his wife and their 4 year old boy. My sister is recommending Zoo and or Aquarium. Thoughts? Will it be too hot for Zoo in mid Sept? Any other cool things that you would say to check out besides Zoo and or Aquarium? Would doing both same day be to much for the kids?

Thanks. Ben

both in 1 day too much unless you want to rush. Both are great and kid friendly. I think you should check out Fernbank( a little for all of you and very fun)

http://www.fernbankmuseum.org/

We also have the high museum of art, world of coca cola, centennial park(have a cool water feature to play in) that are all kid friendly. If you need other suggestions or things for adults or dinning options just let me know.

I have to agree with what was said. Fernbank is so much fun for everyone. Piedmont Park just opened some new sections so if you have a nice day take a walk around the park.

So, Zoo and Aquarium on same day would be pushing it is the consensus? If you had to do one or the other what would pick?

What kind of fun stuff do they have at that Fernbank museum? My daughter is only 2 and half, she gets bored pretty quick. lol. Maybe pick Zoo or Aquarium and the Fernbank? What kind of temperatures do yall see in Atlanta in Sept?

Go to Fernbank then, they have lots for the kids.. The Aquarium is great and they have a really cool dolphin show. The zoo is nice, but just like any other Zoo.

What kind of food are you into? Are you wanting Romantic or Family friendly(do have someone to watch the kids)? We have any kind of food from all over the world, so it is limitless. Are you guys going to have a car or relying on public transportation.

To do the zoo, give yourself 3hrs(+45minutes travel). The aquarium can be done in as little as 45mins, but you will not be able to see the dolphin show or watch any of the 3d films and would have to rush to get in all the tanks and exhibits in under an hour. To give you an idea, my wife and I went with no kids in tow(don't have any yet) and they hadn't opened the dolphin exhibit yet and we spent 5hrs there.

If you had to choose, I would go to the aquarium(but I am also a sucker for those and tend to make that a to do anywhere I travel, if they have one)

Great info man! Thanks. So I am now leaning towards Aquarium and Fernbank Museum then. My daughter would love the dolphin show.

Dinner, I wish we could do romantic but no one will be available to watch our kids. The entire wedding party will be partying it up watching the LSU football game that night. Looking for a somewhat family friendly place would good food.

-Hard Rock cafe

-Varsity(a must)****caution***** very greasy, but a landmark and a must when visiting.

-Vortex(a little drive) but some of the best burgers you will ever eat

-Fox Brothers BBQ()

Its hard for me not having a kid to recommend. What kind of food do you guys like? Are you trying to keep the $$$ down or just want a new experience? Do you like BBQ(we have some of the best in the country)? If so beef or pork(they all do chicken, but some have better beef and some have better pork). Also do you mind a 15 minute drive for some food?
