Default Greensboro/Winston Salem area- Maybe moving, and need opinions

I may take a positoin with Deere-Hitachi if they make me a reasonable offer on Friday. They are actually located in Kernersville but we would want to live somewhere more "happening". Currently i am about 20min south of atlanta and love to have "stuff" around. Can you suggest any good areas ? Im flying blind here and have NO IDEA what is in the triad area. I drove around for only a few minutes and couldnt find so much as a damn restraunt. My fiance and I would want to pick up a house and be within about 10 or so minutes from things to do. Movies, food, bars etc.

Anyone live in this area or familar with good/bad parts? Im pretty free to live in either Greensboro, Winston Salem or Highpoint

I never got the other message. I think my email is screwed up or something.

Thanks for looking into it for me. I suppose if we consider moving there I would really need to speak to someone who is from there. Maybe your brother or sister wouldnt mind if i gave them a ring?

Sorry, wadd... NC only allows a certain number of Brickyards in the state and you would put us over the limit. If you take the job, you have to leave you car behind!

I think you're best bet is to check with the chamber of commerce or City Hall in Kernersville. Being a small town, they should be easy to work with and I'm sure you're not the only person who will contact them wanting to work there, but live closer to a big city.

well like i said....i like greensboro......not that crazy about high point and winston is ok......of the 3 id pick greensboro or somewhere close to it. yeah you could probably talk to my sis or brother in law.......ill check with them first.....then i could prob give you their email or something. Not to get too personal but how much of a house are you looking for......that would probably help as far as which area. My sis is really impressed with that realtor.....i could get the number for her if you need it.

We want a newer 3 br, 2-2.5bath, at least between 1/3- 1/2 acre. We like ranches, dont like split levels at ALL. Basement if its there but dont need it. We like some wood floors, paneling in the dining area etc. If it does not have those two things we can add it ourselves.

Its hard to find a new house that isnt SLAMMED up agains your neighbors house. But, sometimes you drive out far enough you can find a few.

As far as price 160-180's. We actually bought a house matching this criteria with an ACRE here in town. Its brand new! When I lost my job, we lost the house. Very depressing.

Sweet!

Today is the big day. They said they cant wait any longer for a decision. Within 10-15min of Kernersville can we find a house that fits the requirements above? Can you suggest any neighborhoods off hand?

Also, how do you like the area? Are there "things to do". Malls, shopping, schools, bars, restraunts close by? Silly question, I know......but when we moved to Newnan, there really wasnt jack here. We hated it....... it took 2 years before they got to building it up.

Id like to give you a ring if you wouldnt mind sending over your #

there are lots of houses that fit your requirements within 10-15 mintues from kernersville. Go to www.century21.com and look for houses with the area code 27360 and 27362 and look for houses in develpoments off of US109. This is a great area to raise a family, there alot of really friendly people around here too, and its close to all the cities. Btw, i live in a development called ledford downs and its located right next to a middle school, and maybe 5 minutes from a elementary school, and about 2 minutes from a high school.

I live about 10-15 minutes southeast of kernersville in Davidson county (lower central triad area). Davidson county has some of the lowest property taxes around and is known for having one of the best school systems in the Triad area.

I am about 8-10 from main street in High Point which has a good sized mall, 3 movie theaters, numerous restuarants (out back, Liberty Steakhouse, chilli's, Hams, and a few nicer restuarants).

I am about 15 minutes from winston-salem which has a great upscale mall (Hanes Mall) with 125+ stores, with tons and tons of places to eat, watch movies, go shopping and go to bars.

And finally i live about 20 min from greensboro. I cant even name what all there is to do in greensboro. Just take everything above and multiply it by 10 then you have greensboro.

anymore questions.....
