Lived here since 1996. I would probably avoid the SE and SW parts of town. Where are you staying? Don't know if it is still true, but Albuquerque once was the leader in restaurants per capita.
What kind of food are you looking for? Believe it or not, there are some good Sushi restaurants in Albuquerque. To name a few: Samurai, PF Chang's, Pappadeaus, Zea's, Johnny Carino's, Boston's, Fox & Hound, Zio's, Garduno's, Chili's, etc., etc., and etc. Then you have the normal franchise restaurants. Most of these are going to have a bar associated with the restaurant.
Maybe, zh.guitar or Barzten1 will chime in with some recommendations.

If your looking for good New Mexican food, try Sefarino's (roast beef burritio smothered with cheese and green chile) Theres one in Rio Rancho and one on Juan Tabo.
Old time New Mexican try Garcia's Kitchen....there are several and it's nothing fancy but it's good. Try a bowl of their green chile stew (if you can stand the heat).

Garcia's is a good choice because its not franchised New Mexican food so its close to home cooking and thats what you want. My favorite is "La Placita Dining Rooms" in Old Town. Been eating there since I was 4 (now 30) and since my family ownes it I totally put my name on it!
Garduno's is my wife and I's favorite. Very good, but go to the original one on 4th street. El Pinto is also good, on Alemeda and Tramway. As far as places to avoid, anywhere around UNM and lower westside.
