Baby on the way!!! (selling the Z)
I just found out last night. Becckie and I are having a baby! We're excited and scared at the same time. It's a good thing, but what do we know about parenting? Baby's not coming until March, but I am ditching the Z early to save up some funds for the new room, diapers, and all that other stuff. I'll still tag around and maybe come out to see a couple of track days. My wife's Protege handles pretty good, maybe with some springs and better brakes...
Anyhow, everyone I've ever met at the conventions and track days has been really friendly and I appreciate all the advice and time you guys have given me. So, in case I don't see any of you around, thanks and drive safe.

Congratulations!!
Don't worry about not knowing anything about parenting. Everyone goes through the same thing and things have a way of working out. You'll get plenty of free advice and you'll learn as you go. Just relax and enjoy it all. Babies have a way of growing too fast and before you know it they'll be bugging you for a Z themselves.

Becckie and Will- My congrats on your good news and new arrival! My only sorrow is that you're getting rid of the Z. But it will live on in your heart and your memories (until you break down and get another- LOL)! As Craig says, don't be a stranger- you will always be welcome at any of our track days or gatherings.
Awesome Will!!! Being a father is a great responsibility, especially challenging in these times. Your attitude and tenacious drive, not only make you a great husband, I dare say you won't have any problems being the "Greatest Father Alive"... or at least on remembered Father's Days to come!!!
Best of Luck, Life, & Love,

Congrats Will and Becky. I wish you both the best. Sorry that you have to give up the Z, but some sacrifices are definitely worth the rewards. From what I know of you and the short time that I've met Becky at the La Junta track, you guys will be great parents.
Definitely don't be a stranger to this board, meetings, or any track days. Congratulations again,
David

Congrats! Now you'll have a built-in pit crew in about 10 years.
Sorry to hear you'll be selling the Z, but like others have said, you're always welcome at our various track events, meets, drives, etc. Hope to see you back out there someday, but in the meantime, I hope you enjoy parenting!

The inevitable has been delayed for as long as I can allow. The Z is up for sale and will be gone by the end of this month. If no one buys it, it will be sold to the dealer for less than it's worth, so if you guys know anyone looking for a good used 03 Chrome Silver, please PM me. It's been a blast, and I'm glad to have kept it for so long. The track days and competitions have all been worth it, and knowing you guys has been the best part. I'll stick around on the forums and hopefully hang out at meets and such, but my baby will have to be replaced by something a little more utilitarian. You guys mind me taking a Blazer out on the track? I promise not to cheat and off-road through the infield

Will- As i said before the only downside to your happy news is that you have to let go of the Z. You know that you're the type of driver the Z was designed for! But there are also other far more IMPORTANT things in life to prepare for and I'm glad you recognize that.
You'll always be welcome at any track event or meet we have and I personally would love to have you bring the (Blazer or whatever) out and be part of my Z pit crew! We may need some off-road capabilities at times...

You (Will) and your family are always welcomed to any and all Z events. Your enthusiasm, excitement, and skill will be missed on the track. I look forward to meeting the newest member of your family!!!

MAn sorry to see your baby go but I'm sure the new baby is much worth it. IF you want you're always welcome to come down to the house and help me work on mine. I'll even let you drive it. I'll be leaving mid-May for the sandbox and hopefully coming home to a 350+whp S/C 350.
BTW: Did Becky have the baby yet? If so, pics of the newest pit crew member!!!

Congrats Will, and don't be shy about not coming around anymore just cause you don't have a Z. You and your new family will always be a part of this family.

Resolute,
Congradulations!!
I am going to have a kid too. The kid will be due May. Its common to be afraid. I was kind of depress when I found out. As the days passes, I am really excited.
I had my car for sell last month and had a buyer, but i back out the last minute. I am trying to enjoy both things at the same time I guess. Since my wife has a 4 door, I think I can live with a 2 seater.

Sorry to hear that your Z will officially be leaving the family, but at least it's for a good cause. Like others have mentioned, please don't be a stranger...feel free to come out to any drives or gatherings you feel like.
Now for the important question: what kind of kart will you be buying the kid? You know that it's never too early to get 'em started these days!

Baby is here and healthy. 5lbs 11oz, 18 in. She's beautiful. The Z is in the papers still, so hopefully someone will buy before the month is up. I;ve been looking into picking up a shifter or sprint kart to race instead. Also been looking at a couple of used 600cc bikes, a GSX-R and a CBR. I have little experience with bikes and know some of you guys own both a bike and the Z. Any suggestions. For zipping around town I think they'll satisfy my need for speed, mileage is great and insurance is cheap. I've found a couple for around 3K. Any experience taking them on a track? I can imagine hitting a road course in one would be a thrill. Any comments welcome. Here's my new pride and joy:
Congratulations Will. Hope your wife is doing well. When will they come home? That's when the fun begins, although our first was the best baby you could ask for. No trouble, ate well and slept just like he was supposed to. I think the first is always great so you'll have more.
The 600 is a great size for a bike, especialy the first. They are plenty fast and do well on the track because they are lighter and shorter wheelbase, therefor much easier to flick through turns. You'll have fun for sure.
Take care of Momma and the baby and be careful out there.
