Please be prompt in reaching the track by 8:30-9:00 a.m. The track manager will NOT be on site all morning long and will have to collect each driver's waiver signature and track fees BEFORE we can proceed.
Don't bother showing up late and expect to be let on the track! Even if you want to just spectate, you'll still need to sign the waiver.

Talk about a blast!!! So much track time and at your own pace due to only 5 of us. Thanks David for setting it up and all the driving tips. At least I now know the VDC works. LOL
Another great track day in sunny La Junta! Thanks to David for putting this together. Like others have posted, we only had 5 show up, but that just meant more track space for those of us who made the drive.
It was great seeing everyone down there, and I was glad that the weather held up for us. Bright and sunny, but not too hot. Good stuff.

I would also like to thank David for arranging this last track day. I certainly learned a lot, and due the small number of cars I was not as stressed as I thought I was going to be (my first time driving a track)
Thanks..
Chris
Thanks..

Those two qualities are what we experienced this weekend in LaJunta. But with those come responsibility in learning how to care for yourself on the racetrack. Add education and experience to the mix and you truly have a potent mixture!
As everybody has reported, Sunday was the ideal day for a track day in LaJunta. Running at wide-open throttle down the front straight saw me reaching for fifth gear for the first time in a 350Z. Speeds were faster than ever, thanks to some track revisions that opened the exit of T3 and widened the lines through both T4-5. LaJunta is now primarily a third and fourth gear course and if you like speed in a Z car, this was the place to use it!
Mattsfier brought down his SRT4 and we saw how potent a blown turbo four was on the straights. His Stage III Mopar kit was impressive, as was how that Neon stopped and turned. Matt is a past B Speed Nissan driver and somehow we've got to show him a way back from the Dark Side. LOL
Had a good drive down with Fizz2 (Chris) and his fiancee. Thanks again for dinner Saturday night (great Mexican food). I'm glad you learned a lot and want to compliment you on your courage to get started and willingness to learn. You just took your first steps into a bold new world and you'll be a better Z driver for it!
Robert K was a pleasure to meet and his past Solo II experience showed. The early HPDE exercises were a snap, but a couple of harmless spins showed that he was reaching his limit on the track! Unfortunately, his blackbird Z now has the distinction of getting the first traffic ticket (for our group) as he was heading into LaJunta on Sunday. Let's learn from this- the police are truly GUNNING for you throughout this stretch of Rt. 50, so when it goes from 65-55-45-35 MPH in the space of say, two feet, get ready for it!
I'm sure eveyone will agree that GaryM05 is simply a pleasure to be around. He's come to every HPDE/track day since we started in '03 and his skill and comfort level shows. His insights are always appreciated and I'd again like to again thank Gary for helping with the instruction on Sunday. BTW- you've just gotta check out those new Volks on his Silverstone Z- bling and speed- you've gotta love it!
Lots of laughter, car talk and multiple sessions of increasing speed on our own private race track. Blue skies with high, scattered clouds and sunlight. Could this be heaven? I'm not sure, but I took a few pics and will try to get them posted later...

Sounds like your guys had a great time. I’m anxious to attend the next event whenever that will be. I’d like to replace my HPS pads and get new slotted rotors before I start putting my car to the test again. Any suggestions on rotors would be welcome.
The weekend wasn’t a total loss for me though (gloating begins here).. While you guys were out getting speeding tickets and spinning your cars around the track, I was finalizing my travel plans for the summer. My girlfriend and I will be working at the U.S. Grand Prix in Indianapolis this year!
We just got our confirmation to work as Paddock Marshals for the entire 3 day event. We are very much into the Formula 1 and I understand that there will also be Formula BMW, Porsche Cup, and possibly GT events that weekend as well. Look for the people in blue jumpsuits sweating their tails off in the hot July sun – that will be us…
Sorry to hijack your thread David. I’m just so excited that I had to tell you guys. I’ll let you touch me next time we get together. Maybe some of my uber-coolness will rub off on you!

Its all good and thanks. I didn't think you drove like a granny but more keeping this speed demon slowed down. But I had some Marvin Gaye playing to keep me in a relax mood. I'll definently keep in touch.
