Default Is it just me or.....

I'm really curious if you guys are experienceing the same thing I am. I've been seeing quite a few z's around denver now. I'm the kind of person that gives a friendly waive to other z owners. When I do this the person acts like he never saw me and just drives by making no eye contact. Are they just newbies in the community who are not true enthusiests. That would be my guess, or their heads to far up their **** just because they drive a Z. I don't know, what do you guys think. Do you see the same thing or is waive getting old?

Same thing. Flashed lights at a PPW coupe right outside my office yesterday but no response. Looked like a 17-18 y.o. driver. An older lady in a PPW ZR drives practically next to me almost every day on the highway but never seems to have noticed me. A girl in an SS Z coupe also showed no emotion when I flashed my lights at her.

So if any of you see me on the road, please remember to wave

It still don't seem that the Z is a common sight around Denver, IMHO. Some Z drivers will wave or signal, but more than half are clueless.

It is quite rare. I do see more Zs now than I used to, but still only about 4-5 per week.

That's strange. I always get a reciprocal response when I flip my fellow Z drivers the bird...

I try to wave at all Z's and not just 350s. Owner of older Zs wave back more. Alot of times when I am in my DD and not the Z I try to talk to other 350z owners, some of them give off a "I am the king **** attitude". But you can tell who are Z enthusiests and who are clueless about their car.

Its happened a couple times to me. Have to relized though that an '03 with high miles could go for around $20k so its easier for younger "punks" to purchase them.
Also you might notice more cause its summer time and they'll are coming out of storage.

Most of the time people are too busy enjoying their new rides (whether it be the performance edge, or styling persona) to notice anybody else on the road in daily traffic. However those seen in clear view, with no question they saw you, perplex me greatly. In these chance encounters I get more response from women drivers than I do men... now tell me why? I don't understand!!!

Prior year owners who still love their Z's are always on the lookout for all generations of their pedigree and most enjoy a wave of respect from us 350z owners. I take pleasure in exchanging smiles/waves with them and they really appreciate our acknowledgement; the new heritage. When you think about it they should be accredited. Our cars wouldn't exist if it weren't for all the successes Datsun/Nissan have realized in models that have gone before. This is predominately the main reason I bought mine; performance and reliability at a cost I could afford!

Urr... ummmm... or was it her looks? Boy, she's darn sexy!!! Oh man, I still can't make up my mine!!!! LOL

I drive a red z and live in Thorton off of 92nd and I-25, i'm no high schooler but i'm pretty young @ 24.

I think your seeing someone else as you posted in my other thread about a red z hanging with a white z. I have seen another red z in my area but not in a while.

Hardly ever have anyone wave back or acknowledge me. I once parked next to a Z in a parking lot, and when I left the store the other Z owner was getting into his Z while I was walking to mine. When I got to mine I said "hi" and he just looked at me. So then I told him about the forum and that he might want to come to some meets or on a drive with other Z owners, and he just replied, "I don't want to go street racing with you or other Z's, this car is already too fast for me on the street." Then he closed his door and tok off. Pretty nuts, I never mentioned racing, but I think due to my age he just heard what he wanted to. The friendliest are by far the classic Z owners, I always get good response from 300ZX drivers and older 240/280Z owners.

Yeah in Southern Cali no one has ever responded to me and then makes me feel weird!

Funny thing...got my first wave yesterday! Went to Dillon with family from out of town for a day of fun in the lake. Upon exiting at Dillon, while waiting at red light at the bottom of the off-ramp, I saw another '06 Redline (a ZR) turning onto the I-70 W on-ramp across from me with an older couple inside. The guy saw me during mid-turn and waved enthusiastically. I reciprocated, of course.

P.S: After parking in the main lot by the marina, a few people came by to ask what kind of car it was (my rear Nissan emblem is shaved). In the evening, when we returned to the car to leave, two teenagers yelled "Its a Nismo? Sweeeeeet!" from their SUV.

By the way, it is so much more fun to drive in the mountains in a Z! Always to be expected of course, but doing so for the first time was an awesome experience. Can't wait for the next group drive.

LOL Is this funny cause I have the Fairlady Z emblem and had some Phil Long Mitsu salesman ask what stage is the Fairlady Z. I explain to them the history of the Fairlady naming and they just give me a funny look. They also try to get me into an Evo and told them I would never own that hunk of junk again.

Ha ha, same here. I guess some owners feel intimidated when they realize their Zs are not enhanced with high-end performance mods.

So guys, if another Z owner waives at you, please be courteous & wave back.

I used to be the happy go lucky G driver until one day some dude tried to race me in another black G on the highway and I pulled away from him 3 times and right as we were slowing up and approaching the toll plaza, he rolls his window down and asked me what I had. I said turbo and he was like THAT'S PATHETIC!!! He said MINES ALL STOCK!!! Funny thing was that I beat him by 4-5 car lengths every single time before I would let off the gas.

He seemed like one bitter individual.
