Hahaha tell me t hey are joking
So today I'm at phil long ford just checking out their mustangs.
In the showroom they have a gt500 and a new shelby gt(the 325 mustang gt with a scoop and some stripes)
So i'm not terribly surprised when he first tells me the gt500 would cost 65000 out the door. I'm not saying this is a good deal at all, just not surprising(although my dad's employee got her convertible for 51k)
The real joke is the shelby gt. On the window it has the sticker that shows the base price of around 30k for the gt the on the right is another sticker that says like
Mustang GT 30k
Gas Guzzler tax 1k
Shelby Gt package 27k
total suggested msrp 52k!!!!!
ahahahah I really think the guy was pissed when i laughed at him so long. So can someone please explain how the hell someone could possibly justify buying that? For two grand you can get all the same upgrades except the shelby logos, why pay almost 30 grand?
I thought it was a bit pricey when magazines estimated 36k msrp.... but DAMN 52? Someone should slap someone at that dealership.
Also, Jay Chamino (probably spelled wrong but owner of phil long) is one of my dad's clients so i think I'm going to try and find out what those things actually cost the dealership ad how much they're raping customers for.

So let me get this straight......
Offer rebates, incentive and generally sell all your cars below invoice making huge losses. Then finally get a vehicle that will actually sell well, get greedy about it, and price it out of the market.
I would just by a regular GT and get the Roush makeover.

instead you get a nascar douchebag's name on the car--a guy who couldn't carry shelby's ********. good call, man

In Fairness Roush has been around for 25 years. Sure the Shelby version has more hp and is slightly faster in a straight line but they have done nothing good with the suspension. This is especially suprising considering the price. The Roush version is so much better round a track and quite frankly, unless I was driving an original, it wouldn't bother that Shelby's name is not on the car.
Both great cars though.
