From what i understand, you get a DTEC map sensor for boost, and when at tune he programs boost also, so when you change maps you change boost.

Plug in the turbo XS 350Z Boost control solenoid, and MAP boost under the boost map.

Yes, the UTEC will act as an expensive boost controller when used to map boost. Worthless to spend extra $$$$ on a seperate boost controller also..

Don't know if I would call it an "expensive boost controller" since it doing much more than just controlling boost.
I personally like the fact that I could have several maps with set boost levels. IE: 91 octane, 6psi, 91 octane 8psi, 100 octane 8psi, etc... Beats cahnging maps, getting out of the car, and setting a MBC each time.

And what do you think the $500-600 JDM boost controllers do?Make toast and coffee? They control boost, open loop, closed loop, and control ramp rate as well as multiple boost maps..The only things it wont do is "scramble boost" and "gear dependant boost" control..But when your getting a superior mid level engine management system and electronic boost controller all in one, I guess you cant complain huh?

I'm sure the UTEC make one hell of a B.C. BUT I would miss having a readout there in front of me and the high boost record feature I use all the time. Don't get me wrong I will at least TRY this but I will keep my current B.C. just for these feature even though it will no longer function for it's original pupose.
