Smoked a rock the size of a football? I think you meant to say HIT a rock... Anyhow, I don't think anyone in Co has an extra wheel laying around. Might want to locate a Discount Tire and see what they have in stock. Sorry and good luck!

Sorry to hear what happened. Myspivey is selling a set of 4 track wheels and snow tires in Denver:
"Tires are in great shape with 90%+ tread left. The rims have no curb rash and look good, no paint pealing. They are dirty but thats about it. Used these as my snow tires but now that the car is lowered plus nismo v1 bumper, no way in hell its getting out in the snow. This includes TPS sensors on all four corners, everything mounted with center caps. Ready to go on a car. Price: 750 + obo. "
I'll see him this afternoon. I can let him know to see if you guys can make arrangements to make it work.
If you haven't done it yet, it is time to tell your gf everything is fine, not her fault, it's an accident and can happen to anybody. That will go a long way towards your relationship. Try to enjoy Glenwood Spring for a couple days while you are making this work for the rest of the trip. Good luck.

Ouch - sorry to hear that.
Henry's (ohw) made a great suggestion about the possibility of working something out with myspivey.
If that won't work, your next best option, IMO, would be to put the spare on and drive west to Grand Junction, CO. Once there, you could probably find a tire shop that could help you out, or that could recommend a different local wheel/tire shop to help you out.
Of all the places in the country to be stranded on a summer weekend, though, Glenwood Springs would have to be among the best. Lots of good hikes out there (including the one up to the springs that gave the city it's name). Not to mention that it's quite possibly the most beautiful stretch of Interstate in the country, given all of the effort that was put forth to make the road flow through the canyon, as opposed to just busting through the rock to make it as straight a route as possible.
Not that that's something you likely care about, though...you're just trying to get from point A to point B...I'd be frustrated, too. Look at it this way: it's a great opportunity to find out how your girlfriend responds to unexpected/stressful events.
Good luck!

I disagree with the "that's what you get when you let your GF drive" comments -- **** like that can happen to anybody when you are driving in the mountains. I was driving near Yampa (south of Steamboat Springs) a couple of weeks ago and I hit a pothole the size of a small tank trap. Bent the **** out of my passenger front wheel (went flat in 10 minutes) AND bent the inside lip on my passenger rear wheel as well. Volk AV3 rims, too. Can't find replacements (the rims are no longer made), so I am going back to stock. Sucks.
Grand Junction is only an hour away. There is a discount tire and big o tire here you can get a wheel from. Also a nissan dealership as well. Sadly it's Sunday, and all the tire shops and dealerships are closed anyway. Though I am in GJ, I don't have a spare set of wheels to sell since I have an 07. At least not yet. Good luck, there should be a tire shop in Glenwood that can help you.
My brother just moved from that area a couple months ago or he could have helped you out. Good luck and if you are really stuck there then post up and I might be able to work something out. I think his stockers are with his old roommate, but they are 18's.
