I'm curious as to mileage on the local stable of the 350s. Mine is 3.75 years old, and has 39K. My mileage threshold and time limit occurred roughly the same time for the warranty.

Gary,

Great write up. Funny as I was reading those old threads how I actually remember typing all that stuff and how great the meets were.

We've got a great group here, thats for sure.

To answer the mileage question, I have had mine for 4 yrs. and 7 months. So far I have 31,000 miles. If it wasn't for taking it on 3 long road trips I think I would only have 21,000 on it. I need to drive it more.

2 years, 8 months, 26k miles. About 150 of those are track miles. I love getting 5 mpg on the track!

Wow - thanks for all the responses. Sounds like we've got a lot of people who feel the same way about this car and community that I do.

Don - like you, I take every opportunity I can to nail a solid heel-toe downshift when coming up to a corner. It's a particularly nice feeling if the passenger isn't an enthusiast, but comments how 'the transmission must be broken because I saw you move the stick, but the car obviously didn't shift, because I didn't feel it lurch forward on the downshift'. To which I always reply 'downshifts should be heard and not felt.'

usmanasif - thanks for sharing the memory of the first time you saw a Z33. It's nice to know I'm not the only one with such a clear memory of the first time to see one (and in fact I suspect most of us can remember those moments, but I think yours is one of the most well-described ones I've read)...good stuff. And it's interesting that you mentioned Duluth...I spent a summer weekend up in Duluth/LaCrosse about 20 years ago on a trip to visit relatives in Minnesota, and for some reason the area still sticks in my head, even though I was barely 10 years old at the time. Also, thanks for reminding me about the last-minute driving practice I had to put in before picking up the Z that I mentioned in that early thread...that's a really good memory, and one that I mentioned on Monday to the guy who let me abuse his car like that on that afternoon so many years ago. He couldn't believe it had been that long, either!

Will - likewise! I remember that day at LaJunta (particularly the look in your eyes after the first few car control exercises that said 'whoa, I never thought this car could do THAT!') And of course the day at Second Creek when you showed us all how it's done (only your second track in the Z, if I remember correctly). I think I know of a racing seat with your name on it, if you could just give up this whole 'family responsibility' thing and get your priorities straight! It'll be fun to see you back on the track, leaving us all in the dust, as usual.

And to add mine to the mileage log: 5 years and 49,000 miles.
