Well the wife & I decided that we're going to pick up an '09 Nissan Murano SL while I'm home this March. Was wondering if I can get some reviews of the Nissan dealership you worked with. Thanks!

Robert- I'm currently testing the new '09 Murano for Nissan Sport and have to say, it is a nice package! As for dealerships, we purchased my wife's Maxima SE from a Pueblo dealership that's since changed hands. But I did offer them 2% over invoice to order the vehicle and got a nice deal for what was then a new model. Pueblo has grown so much since then, however. I'm not sure you'll be able to find such a deal on the new Murano.
I purchased my Z from what is now GO Nissan in Englewood. At the time, we'd run a corporate sponsorship deal through the GM of the shop. When the new Z33 was being developed back in 2001 I approached him about putting down a deposit for MSRP. He didn't believe it at first- "I haven't heard anything about it". But I told him: "You will be! But if I put down my deposit now, I don't want to pay anytthing over MSRP." He agreed and the deal went through about two years later. No hassle, but I can't say I wanted to go back, either.
Most of my parts and service has been done through Tynan's Nissan here in Aurora. Small volume in comparison to the mega dealerships- you may be able to work some magic to get your new Murano there.
It's certainly a buyers market out there- I might suggest obtaing quotes via fax or e-mail from a variety of Front Range dealerships. Or better yet, spec your Murano, get a invoice listing and tell them what you'd be willing to pay for the model you want. Good luck!

Thanks for the info David. I'm currently talkine via email with the dealership in Pueblo. It even think about sending request to various dealerships.
So how are you liking the new model? As mentioned we're looking at the Sl w/ Leather pacakge and Premium Package. Peublo e-mailed me one with the color's Ada want but also has the Tech package. I e-mailed them back with I think a fair offer. Guess I'll find out Monday.

It's a nice, evolutionary step up ladder from the previous Murano generation. Dynamically, it's not my cup of tea- relatively high center-of-gravity and more style than sizzle. But the latest VQ35DE in this car moves out! The interior and exterior styling details are, as you'd expect, well-done. For a new model that costs less than the outgoing generation it's replacing, the new Murano offers a lot of bang for the buck.

Would you say this is aim for the female buyer? We're going for a 140-160 4cyl Outlander XLS to the new Murano. Our biggest complaint in the Outlander is the engine. Just isn't enought up in Colorado elevation. Wife loves the styling and does seem to offer a lot of extra for a great price.

Yep, the Murano has to have a lot of appeal for the ladies! I don't know the demographics, but they've gotta be up there. I think the CVT matched with the VQ in the Murano make for plenty of power when you need it. But the styling is what sells this car!

BTW- the new Murano is usually in FWD mode, but seamlessly blends over to AWD when needed. I tried it out on some HUGE chunks of ice this weekend and it just trudged up and over with no problems. There's also a switch to electonically lock the diff in AWD mode for particularly slick roads.

I'm sure they're both good SUVs but not what the wife wants.

Does this mean your dad will only consider a RWD crossover?

Robert: I've really enjoyed the experiences that I have had with Tynan's Nissan. The sales guy was very laid back, with a pressure-free environment. The service/parts guys have been great, too. It sounds a little corny to say it, but it "feels" like a small, family dealership: very comfortable.
Encountered the famous feathering issue when I brought the Z down from Canada. I went to Empire Lakewood Nissan first since they were the closest, but they didn't know anything about feathering. And have to wait 2 days before they can look at it. So I left.
Took it to Tynan's. Great guys to work with. Everything fixed along with 2 new front tires ordered in, all done the next day, under the Canadian warranty.
