dave,
just saw this thread (haven't been on this forum in a good while) and was wondering why i hadn't heard about the payment instructions.
should i send a check (you know i'm good for it) or wait it out? I hate to send a check only to have you tear it up, but i'll follow your recommendation.

Sorry, guys: I'm not going to be able to attend. I'm having a weird intermittent brake problem that I haven't been able to diagnose. I'm definitely not comfortable with hitting the track with an intermittent brake problem.

Wow - you have GOT to be kidding me! All those guys who signed right up months ago are nowhere to be found, now that it’s time to actually pay up.
I guess talk is cheap, though I have to say I’m not surprised, since we’ve seen this pattern before.
If there was any way that I could get out of work that day, I’d be there for sure, but what about all those guys who actually signed up and ‘committed’ to going? David has been generously putting these programs together for the past 5+ years – I guess at this point he’s trained everyone who has a desire to be trained…all of those guys who always say “I can’t make this one, but I’ll be at the next for sure” should really consider attending this one, as the paid turnout from this event isn’t promising enough for there to be many more of these. Of course I can’t speak for David, but I can’t imagine that this low level of demand will be sufficient to support this kind of program for much longer.
Kudos to those who have paid up – I’m very sorry to see you not get the kind of excellent training that David has proven to provide.
For anyone on the fence, I can only say that you will not regret attending this class. David has been responsible for getting the last two NASA Rocky Mountain TTC Champions started in on-track driving, and he’s responsible for giving a start to another local Z guy went on to win a scholarship to attend a program at the Jim Russell Racing School. For me, attendance at this program was a life-changing event, as I’m now living my long-time dream of actually competing in wheel-to-wheel racing – all because of David.
And let's not forget the safety aspect of this event – it’s not a stretch at all to say that what you learn at this event could one day save your life, or the lives of others.
You CAN NOT go wrong by attending this track day, and you will not find this level of instruction, or this amount of track time, at this price, anywhere in the country.
So what’s the hold-up?

Thanks for the testimonials from garyM05, dave90tt and others. It's currently October 16th and unless the mailbox or paypal today has any more entries, we're done. The problem with trying to set these up via a board is there's no way to get ahold of those who committed in the past. You'd think that most everybody would have read this thread and tried to at least give some type of excuse, but only Colorado Clark has manned up on that.
For what it's worth, I've tried to offer these classes as a way of introducing motorsports in a gradual, non-threatening and relatively safe environment. It's something I would have wished for when I was first starting my career in motorsports! And while we had a few broken wheel studs (remember Joe's Pike's Peak white Z?) and a flat tire (mine), those were the only on-track incidents in one of my events over the past five years. Considering the fact that everyone is driving flat-out by the end of the day, it's a enviable record.

With less than four paid deposits as of October 17th, I've released the exclusive on the track for the 27th. All Paypal deposits will be returned today and this event is NOW CANCELLED.
Hey guys,
I thought I subscribed to the thread about this event, but I guess I didn't, so I missed the deadline to get the funds to Dave. Sorry this happened. I was really looking forward to this event and had scheduled for the day off work.
I look forward to next season and will look out for when you offer this class again.

David. Thanks for taking the time out of your very busy schedule to orgainze this. I'm sorry this didn't come through.
I hope this didn't dampen your spirit but I assure you that there are still enthusist out there who desires your wisdom, but I'm sure you already know that. I really feel bad on your behalf since you are the one that lost the most out of this...your time.
I don't blame you if you never want to orgainze another event again. If there is a next time, let one of us do all the leg work for you.
To show my appreciation, you may keep my money.

BTW- Give me a call when you get a chance and we'll try to get those belts done!
Hey David, if you ever have another track event planned can you please let me know about it? I can PM you my email address if you can put me on an email list. I am really interested in a class like this when and if it becomes available again. I hardly visit my350z.com, I am on myg37.com most of the time. It is a sad day when you have a modded G37 that you have never tracked...

Today (Sunday) is a beautiful day and tomorrow (10/27) looks to be as good, or even better! We've battled track schedules, the always capricious weather and mechanical issues to hold some memorable events at Pueblo over the past six years. This lastest attempt at holding another HPDE really has me puzzled. With plenty of advance notice, lots of testimonials and still the lowest cost in North America for the EXCLUSIVE use of a great track, it just didn't matter.
Currently, there's no plan to hold any more of these events (sorry bboysteele). As I stated at the start of this thread, the change in management at PMP, tight track/race schedule and a lack of committment are gonna make this a tough sell in the future. Perhaps, as GaryM05 has said, most of those Datsun/Infiniti/Nissan pilots who are truly interested have already been through the program. Whatever, itll be a little sadder day tomorrow, contemplating what kind of fun we might have had....

David I just want to say "Thanks" for giving me the oppurtunity in the past and pleasure of attending one of your HPDE Classes. It is a sad day when others are passing up such a great chance of learning some basic high speed driving skills. And the fun factor of pushing their Z/G (vehicle) to their driving skill limits on a closed course. I wish you, and everyone else that have/will attend(ed) a HPDE, in thier pursuit of becoming a better driver or racing goals!

Wow! This is disappointing. I guess that new cold air intake is a bit more important to some.

As you say, many sportscar pilots would rather talk about how fast they went on a back road and spend the $$ modding their car. Truth is, to learn how to really drive fast and consistently takes both effort and experience. And the only way to gain meaningful experience is to put your ego (and the mod budget) into the back seat. That's not so easy for most people and yet remains a desperate need on today's roads.
Some have said that a low cost/high quality instructional driving program is simply not feasible. I've even heard comments from professional driving instructors that programs like this are detracting from their businesses!
(yeah, I'm SO SAD too...) But the facts are that track events like this, with a highly affordable price, exclusive track use, progressive skill building and structured learning environment (not to mention a six year history of safety and success), have struggled to be held. Any other comments?
