Default Ready to try drag racing at SIR, have some questions.

OK, so I'm considering going to the Test n Tune Friday night Feb 6th but I've never been drag racing before so I have questions.

(1) How long does it usually take?
(2) Should I be prepared for multiple runs?
(3) Is there anything special I need to have installed on my car(I'm running bone stock with street tires)

Thanks for any input. Is there anyone else going that night?

1. Just depends on how many people are there. Test N Tune usually have a quite a bit of people compared to midnight madness since a lot of high school drag racing teams go to test. Sometimes my next race is in 15min. sometimes you wait for about 45min.
2. You should get atleast 3-6 runs in on Friday Night with all the other people. I think thats what I usually get in.
3. Our cars are way to fast. We need Helmets, 5 Pnt. Seat belts and Roll Cages otherwise they don't let us race. JK. Nah. Just nothing that's able to roll around in your car. Like any subwoofer boxes not bolted down. or containers that can fly and hit you in the head or something. Pretty much take out anything that doesn't need to be in there. Plus you must wear closed toe shoes, no sandles, and pants, no shorts. I think that pretty much covers it.

If you get a chance Instant Message me on AOL at "ILL Mario ILL"
maybe I can meet up with you or something.

It looks like Mario pretty much covered it. I will have to pass this time as I just got brand new tires and I was there 2 weeks ago.
Check out the New Racer tab at sirace.com for all the rules and information. If you go, let me know how you do. I have been twice and my best time so far is a 15 flat. I seem to have a hard time putting together a good run (bad launch, missed shifts, rev limiter, etc.). One tip - don't launch at too high of an RPM, you will get nothing but wheel spin if you don't really feather the clutch.

I have noticed the wheel spin problem when I try launching for the AutoX. Maybe I should practice around town before Friday night.

YES! I can't wait. I'll probably leave work at 5PM and go straight there. It will be nice to have someone there that knows what to do and all.

What time does it usually end? I can only stay until about 10PM at the latest.

Later!

10pm is about the time it will probably end tech closes at 9. DO you want to meet up somewhere? I don't think I can be there any earlier than 6:30. I work over at Northwest Hospital and get out at 5. So with Friday night traffic as bad as it is I will be lucky if I get there earlier than 6:30 I will PM you my cell number if you want to meet up somewhere or something.
