Moving to Colorado - Emmisions?
Yea I know that the summer tires will be bad in the winter, but I dont have storage space for snow tires, so I guess I will be bringing the camry first. I need to be practical since I will leave the other car in hawaii for a minimum of 4-6 months and up to a year before shipping since I don't need both. I also need to find a job there so can't just be throwing money around. My move is for family purposes and I'm not military or anything like that so I won't have incoming income until I find a job there and shipping each car is about 2300+ out of my pocket which isnt worth it to just have an extra car there for leisure unless I have the spare budget.
Actually, dave in is infinite wisdom brings up a really good point - sell the camry in Hawaii, put that money and money you'd spend to ship it over into a good 4wd truck or subi or something that you can beat on during the winters out here. my dd is f150 and next to no miles have been put on the nissan(it's been up in the air more than it's been on asphalt).
Sure these arent Pennsylvania deep freeze winters but when it snows bad it is really bad!! most the time it snows and then it melts 1 or 2 days later!!

I think if I did get rid of a car I'd get rid of the G first tbh. It was never was my dream car to begin with. It was just the most practical of the cars I wanted at the time. I was deciding between an NSX, TT Supra(was always my dream car), or the G, but I couldnt see myself spending the same amount on a car from the 90's and with only 2 seats in practicality. I like the car, but am not in love with it, especially nowdays.

So, let me get this straight...you'd sell the G and keep the Camry? Really?
Even if it isn't your "dream car", the G is a far cry from the blandmobile you also own. I'd think selling the Camry and buying a decent set of alloys with dedicated snow tires would be an infinitely better option than selling the G and being stuck with...you know...

Understandable... Though i do like driving the G, it just doesnt make practical sense to choose it between the 2 (if i had to) just because the camry is in mint condition (still new car smell) and the G is far from it. I also get 28mpg with the camry which is still a v6, compared to my G at 14mpg. I can afford to bring both no problem eventually, but for practical reasons need to choose 1 to bring first just in case I don't want to stay there and end up moving again soon after as well as not being able to rent extra stalls there.
I know the camry is just a plain car but its relaxing and practical to drive and its actually pretty fast for what it is. I would say stock for stock, its on par with the G.
Also buying a set of snow tires right now wouldnt be an option as I wouldn't have anyplace to store them since the place we will have there doesn't have private garages.
So if the G could drive year round easily with the hankook v12 evo k110 tires it currently has on, I would bring it first, but if it definitely cant then i'd have to bring the camry for now and ship it once I decide on staying there long term and have a safe space for it.

So in the end, convinced one of my friends to make the road trip with me and help me move both cars, so I will have both the camry(daily) as well as my G there by 1st week of july. Looking forward to seeing what Colorado living has to offer.
