Default Second Creek Sat. June 5th

Not sure who all here is planning on attending the Second Creek track day with the ZCCC, but if you are thinking about it you probably should get your *** out there.

I wanted to let everyone know that I was planning on having a little BBQ at the house afterwards if anyone's interested. I live pretty damn close to the track, and I thought why not unwind afterward with some food and refreshments. Even if you don't go to the track day, you are welcome to come, but missing the track day would be a shame, it's so much fun.

If you are planning on coming just e-mail me and I will give you all the directions and address. All I ask is that you bring your Z and anything you may wanna have cooked on the grill, I will take care of the rest including drinks and the like.

My e-mail:
denverservice@healthstylesexercise.com

Hope everyone will be able to come.

Brian

Brian,

Does anyone seem to have a schedule of events for this? I've emailed almost everyone at ZCCC, but nobody seems to read (or answer) their email.

I'm interested in going, but only as a spectator right now... although some arm twisting might actually get me out on the track.

I'm not a member of the ZCCC, so what would fees be for me? What equipment, besides a helmet, would I need to adorn?

THanks!

Don...

I think for non-members it's $65 to race, if I am wrong someone correct me.
I believe gates open at 7:30 for tech. I will check all the facts tonight at home and post them up tomorrow.

You will need to obviously need a helmet as well as long sleeves and long pants.

I am now twisting your arm so bad it's going to break, what are you going to do? I think you need to race.

You may be right about racing... STOP, you're twistin' too hard!!!

This would definately give me a chance to try out my new mods, especially before going down to La Junta mid month.

I'll be checking the board for your posting of events/time/whatever!

Cheers!

Don - glad you're thinking about coming out to SCR. Second Creek is a very 'technical' track, so your suspension mods will definitely be given a chance to perform. And even if you decide not to drive, you should bring your helmet out, as it's free to ride along with others. This would give you a feel for the track without plunking down the $80 (although I would suggest joining the ZCCC; this will give you lower track-day costs as well as significant vendor discounts.)

Something else to keep in mind is that the ZCCC tech inspection process has been known to be inconsistent - sometimes they just stare at your car for a couple of seconds before they pass you, and sometimes they go over it so thoroughly that it seems they think you have a nuclear device hidden in there, and they're trying to save the country by finding it. So it pays to get there early to get that process out of the way.

As for a schedule, they haven't even sent one yet to those of us who have registered, so I wouldn't take it personally that none of the folks you've emailed have responded yet (although I have to admit that I would find that frustrating.)

I will be there as a spectator, maybe around 10am. I haven't ordered my track brake pads yet, and I have no intention of cooking my fresh set of street pads, so I can't run on the track.

I'll probably bring my helmet, in case I get a chance to ride along on a lap or two.

Not sure if I'll be able to make the BBQ, my girlfriend was talking about maybe going to Blackhawk. We'll see.

Looking forward to seeing you guys out there.. I'll probably bring along all the parts I bought for my oil cooler kit, so I can get opinions from other owners.

WOaaaaAAAHOOOO!!!! What a blast!!! I'm so glad I didn't just ride around...

Mudd: Nice to finally meet you. I hope your schedule allows for La Junta on the 19th... you're very fast!

Gary: Thanks for the ride-along tips and the advice... you really know your stuff!

Alex: Good luck on the baby next weekend. Just think, the day after you get back from La Junta (you're still going!!) will be your first Father's Day!! eh... hmmm!!!

TO EVERYONE WHO DIDN'T GO: why??? I know... you're afraid that if you go once, then you'll want to go again... and again... and again... so, what's the prob? LOL... just having fun...

Cheers All!!

The best way to get any kind of answers to anything would be to go to the zccc meetings. The only thing on the web site that is up to date is the newsletter.

lol... not even that is correct... i got Gary Bracken's email address from it, and they all told me yesterday (at the track) that even that was wrong.

I'd love to go to the meetings... but my schedule isn't the best for attending them all.

Things will work out somehow. They now have my phone numbers and address as I joined yesterday.

I didn't say the contact info in the newsletter is correct, just that it has the current newsletter.

btw, I drove my white 240z on the track yesterday.

Nope, if I'm not mistaken, Darrel's heading to the national Z Car convention in La-La land. Have fun at Willow, Darrel (and don't forget the sunscreen, sunglasses, hat and water, either)!
