Question Any recommendations for stereo equipment

I have a 2005 base Z and I want to change the stereo in it. I have $1000 to spend. Anybody have any recommendations on what I should put in it. I don't want the bass to overpower the system. I want good clear sound

as far as components, I was able to get infinity 6.1 perfects for 230 shipped on ebay and pair it up with some infinity 6000i coaxials for 75.00. Run this with a nice amp at least 85 x 4 rms because i've heard those components need lots of power. I have this set up along with an alpine 9835. good luck because I wasn't able to stay under 1k for my system so far.

From what yoy said, it looks like you are looking to add a sub. Given the budget you have go with a simple 10" sub, amp for the sub, and pick up a 4ch amp for the stock speakers. Why add an amp to the stock speakers? Because one of the most important thing in car audio is a clean signal, thats why the higher end headunits have the higher volt output. That is something that powering the speakers off the headunit can give you. I did this to my last car for a while and it sounded pretty good. I had 3 12" subs when I didnt that and it didnt over power it too much. Send me a PM I'm around your area.

well i reconmend a pheonix gold 5 channel amp @$400 box with 2)10" @250 and a pioneer cd/mp3 player with a high voltageoutput @300 and it should be perfect cause the 5 channel can power front and rear speakers and 400 watts for the subs.check out www.serenitysoundusa.com
