Man, they always shoot films on this street (South Grand). Most of the car commercials you see on TV nowadays are shot here. Of course, they purposefully choose the weekend to do this for the obvious reasons (i.e., block off streets, lots of police presence, film crew taking up parking, etc) So comning into the office on weekends when they are filming becomes such a pain!
Well, it doesn't look like they are shooting films today but the police were blocking off the streets... and there is a chopper circling around and it is annoying.... I wonder what it is? Are they searching for an escaped convict or something?
Just venting.

They filmed the first scene of S.W.A.T. near Chinatown in L.A. about 1/2 year back or something like that.
It was cool to see the bullet ridden prop car, but trying to get through that street was ridiculous.

It's fun if you have nothing else to do but man, I hate road blocks b/c it creates traffic, plus I can't get to the street parking where I usually park on Sundays, etc.

BTW, I also remember them filming that one scene from 'Terminator' at that bridge that leads from
Chi-town through Lincoln Heights. It's the scene where Aaanold
jumps off the bridge with the Harley.
That scene from SWAT where the bad guy tries to escape was filmed at the corner of Hollywood and Wilcox in Hollywood. There's a big mural there called "You are the Star".

Here I am at that street corner last year:
