Bottomline it's yet another slow track with strong head winds
I'll have to look into that theory. Otherwise, yes its a slow track with headwinds.

This was with drag radials, hi-flow cats, sans headers, temp 80's-ish, slight head wind:

I don't ice down my plenum or doing anything other than open the hood and let the Z cooldown. However, CSW was cycling through the groups fast and I only had 1 hour ~ 15 minutes for a cooldown period (the Z needs more like a 2 hour cool down period w/o ice) on each run.

13.9 is attainable, but the conditions at CSW makes it kinda impossible. I haven't seen a Z do 13.9 at CSW, 14.1 was the best I've seen (doesn't mean someone hasn't done 13.9). I have to see frenzee drive at CSW, perhaps my shifting speed is really slow.

I'll probably wait till the winter time and run the private days and hopefully I get into the low 14's. I have pretty much have the 60's almost down to a science, but finishing the 1/4 miles at mid 14's is usually caused by slow shifting. However, most stock cars at CSW do average 0.5 to 0.8 of a second slower than the stated magazine times.

Sometimes I do get the impression that drivers at CSW do really suck and their is only a handful of exceptional few.

Hmmmm I might be able to hit 13.9 if I went to drag radials and toss out my spare and jacks. If I can hit a 1.9 60's on drag radials I should be able to get 13.9s.

I think I might try a 3500 RPM launch next time on street tires.

I talked to a friend that does tons of drag racing at California Speedway and he said the air density on Saturday was way over 3,900 feet + (especially at 4:30pm it was even higher).

Converted time as follows for DA 3,900 ft.:

My 350Z converted time:
ET: 14.663 x 0.9523 = 13.963 Seconds 1/4 mile run
Trap: 95.90 x 1.0507 = 100.76 MPH

Motor Trends 05 350Z Enthusiast timed:
ET: 13.9 @ 102.2

I saw an 05 Mustang (Manual) do:
ET: 14.4 x 0.9523 = 13.71 Seconds 1/4 mile run
Trap: 96 x 1.0507 = 100.86 MPH

I'm not a big fan of coverted numbers, but I drive an NA motor car so I'll try and get use to the idea.

You'll need better tires if you have any hopes of breaking 14.0. If I recall correctly, one guy did 13.0 flat in an enthusiast model with nothing but a pair of 15" drag slicks (size matters!). Another race track, another state tho.
