Default Who's done FI in So. Cal? Feedback wanted

I plan to have my car turbocharged or supercharged this summer and wanted some feedback on which shop you had do your installation. What system did you go with? Were you pleased with the quality of tuning and install? Would you go to them again?

Thanks,

GRC Performance in Mission Viejo. It only cost $875 for my Procharger install and dyno tune. Great work.

I'll second protocav for installation ... whether it be suspension, engine or cosmetic ... my car will always end up at his garage for work.

Is Protocav a shop or a person working at home? How can he/they be reached?

Will they install any boost kit for that much? I don't see why a local place charges over 3k for something that bolts right and requires no fabrication. The turn around is too slow for me too.

Protocav (his screen name here) is a guy that work out of his garage. He is a G35 owner and is pretty well known with the G guys. However, myself, Miaplaya, sbcbaseball, brimstone, and a few other Zs have all been frequent customers of him.

You should just PM him, well, I will tell him to check this out when I see him at the San Diego 5/17 Meet tomorrow.

You'll be hard pressed to meet a nicer guy that will show you every in and out of the install, or if you want ... he'll give you a beer and you can sit back and relax.

Let me know if you need some more names of guys that have been there .. they are mostly Gs .. but I am sure they can be found around here.

Take care,
Jim

Not likely. Next to Stillen .. procharger is one of the easiest installs. It's tuning on the other hand .. not easy. But the self contained oil system and easy packaging make it a cheap install.

Vortech, Turbonetics, Stillen, Procharger, and maybe the APS ST should all be under $1000 for installation ... and cheaper if you go elsewhere.

Give Jeff / Jim / Eric at StreetImage a call. They provide great quality installs. Just make an appointment as they can be backed up due to overwhelming demand for project cars.
