got in 5 runs by 7:30 and took about 1 hour break....that was pretty cool
Worst Tracction EVER!!!
I could not hook up if my life depended on it...and nor did anyone else.
I've never seen so many red lights, everyone started rolling at the tree.
Best run was a 9.3 worst a 10.2, lol I started rolling, red lighted and fell asleep at the wheel all at the same time...LOL the Run of Shame
Only good thing I hit 78 mph on my last run so far it was always 77.
Our announcer friend hit a new low in his import bashing: "Mitsubishi...brought to you by the nice folks that brought you Pearl Harbor"
Hey RickDog, thanks for the Hola from your buddy. When are you coming out there?

I remember having one of those days when there was enough rubber junk on the pad to cause cars to roll forward in California Speedway.
I heard alot of good things about Iriwndale when it comes to traction and meeting car mag times. I would think the Z would have been around 8.8 to 9.1's at Irwindale, but I guess it might be other factors.
You can try California Speedway on June 18th, and it'll be for a 1/4 mile. However, don't expect great times from there either.

I've been going to Irwindale for over 2 years and I had never such bad traction.
I'm going to the private track event at Cali Speedway on June 17th.
I'm getting my enforced axles, clutch and flywheel installed as I'm typing this and will run on slicks. Traction should not be an issue that day...just the lack of my turbo that still hasn't arrived...so I'm hoping for maybe a 13.9 probably more around 14.2

Wait, so those runs were done WITHOUT slicks, correct? Or were they WITH slicks but the track wasn't prepped?
As for Cali. Speedway, if you got slicks and those axles you should definitly hit something better than 13.9. I have hit 14.00 with my stockers, and 13.8 on juice but on my 20's
Hey FLZ_Boy, what times have you ran and at what tracks? I know I've seen you at Cal. Speedway, but I've never seen you run you car.

I ran a few times at California Speedway.
best trap I had was 100 MPH with a fully loaded up Z, but traction sucked at night (March). I ended up running a 14.6 with a 2.4 60'.
I tried again in May, but its was like 90 degrees with a DA of 4,000 feet + at 4:30pm and I ran a 14.6@95.90 with a 60' of 2.1 (street tires). 05 Mustang GT Manual ran a 14.4@96.1 and a Lexus GS 430 automatic ran a 15.2. So I would say the DA of 4,000 feet was about right that day. I think after this comming June 18th run, I'm going to wait around winter to get better times.
June 18th @ California Speedway will be the last I run till winter comes. I'm getting annoyed now with 2.1 60's and getting crappy times with the hot weather.

The correct Lug nuts just arrived so I should be ok on Friday. Just knowing Cali Speedway I am not expecting too much also I have never run on slicks before...I'm sure there's a learning curve involved.

Yeah, I'm sure about the learning curve, you don't know what to expect.... like what's too much or too little. I too want to run slicks, but I figure I change my LSD and axles so I can have more confidence when I do run them.

I got my stronger axles, JWT Clutch and Flywheel installed this past weekend.
It'll be very interesting on Friday.
there's only one other 350Z registered, don't know who that is though...we'll find out

Well, keep us posted, specially with what ever you think may work well launching with slicks outhere in So. Cal. I was planning on going to the speedway this Saturday, but I have other business to attend to. Maybe next month...

yeah, I posted in the drag section, best run was a 14.033 with a 2.096 60' foot, I could not get the burnouts done without getting into heavy fishtailing and the track was slippery as heck.
But based on what other z's did over the weekend there I am very happy since I have no engine mods. It was a lot of fun.
