I'd prefer Wednesday less teeny boppers. Although I remember I have plans but I don't what it was...

PM me your cell.

Wed would be good for me. Lets make it a date. When I went last Friday there was about 8srt's out. I was like damn, then I saw some of them had srt4forums sticker on the window. So, I had to make sure I lined up next to a couple of them to see what they were working with, and I beat the two I raced but they had some fast ones out there.

Thomas:
That might be a fun evening to come out and see your first Quarter Miles.
As you know I like to take photo's to put on the board.

I'll be in Sylmar tomorrow.. Palmdale should not be too bad a run.

But what is the address.. The LACR web site didn't say..

Please PM me your Cell.. I just changed/upgrade phone.

Cheers Amy -

for the first timers, dont try to go on yellow. take your time and get a good lunch. the light has nothign to do with the time. the timer starts when you leave the line.

if you are not trying to win the race against the car in the next lane, just relax and concentrate on getting a good lunch.

I will most likely go also. earliest i can me it will be around 6:30, i think they are open till 10 and today will not be busy.

I did 9 runs.

best run was a 12.646 so I'm pretty happy with that.
The track is actually very tight after you hit 2nd but until then....slipporama, horrible.

Now what was very disapointing was the fact that the fastest cars were in their 13's. I won every single race with time to take a tea break...including the domestics. I saw one other 12 second car. Most cars were in their 15's if at all.

Cool thing was that some non Z people came to me saying: "hey, are you the Z that hit 12.2 at Cali Speedway?" Now that felt very good.

so what happened to certain people saying that they would show????

Runs were around 88 F, low humidty, elevation of 2,700feet (Air Density, no idea). I had tire and jacks in the car, ~8 gallons worth of gas. Tires were roughly at 38 PSI.

1st Run: (Waited 2 hours before I ran)

Reaction: Red Light, because my car rolled off the line before I started)
60: 2.203
1/8: 9.633
Mph: 74.531
1/4: 14.872
Mph: 94.310

2nd Run: (Right after the 1st run)

Reaction: 0.020
60: 2.356 (3,000 RPM launches don't work too well)
1/8: 9.877
Mph: 74.325
1/4: 15.121
Mph: 94.182

3rd Run: (waited an hour)

Reaction: 0.231
60: 2.289
1/8: 9.755
Mph: 74.567
1/4: 14.988
Mph: 94.610

4th Run: (Right after the 3rd)

Reaction: 0.008 (darn, wanted the perfect light)
60: 2.310
1/8: 9.836
Mph: 74.458
1/4: 15.079
Mph: 93.315

My impressions about LACR: The launch pad isn't as well preped compared to California Speedway, its about 0.1 slower on the 60's. However, down the track, its ALOT more stable than compared to California Speedway. Its almost comparable to running on the streets. I actually don't get wheelhop going into 4th gear compared to California Speedway and its actually easier to shift (CSW feels like I have to force the shifter into the gate). The real downer about LACR is the elevation on hot days, it just kills all the N/A cars out there (well, almost all of them).

Now the ugly part about LACR, when I was leaving the lot out of LACR with Mrtomcat I got rear-ended by a Nissan Sentra.

My rear-end will need to be replaced since the rear bracket punched a hole through my bumper. It just looks like the bumper damage, I'll have the insurance deal with the issue. At least the kid that rear-ended me has State Farm as the insurance. I got all the information I need and contact his parents with my cell phone (mom wasn't happy).

Kid told me he had no father, mother collecting disability, he works full time. As much I want to give him a chance to pay for the damage, but a factory UY bumper isn't going to be cheap. Best to let the insurance handle it. I need sleep and live another day with that hole in my rear-end.

My car feels like I have a salvage title now.

It wasn't a loud bang when I got hit, I didn't expect you to hear it.

The funny thing about the whole incident was 1 cop past by us like nothing happen. If there were 4 cars and a group of people, wouldn't you think a cop would stop to see what the hell is happening on the highway? I was amazed how cops even do their jobs sometimes.

A second cop (sheriff) came by and shined those 2 beaming lights on us and made us walk lines. I'm just kidding, he asked if we were taking down information and I pretty much got all the infomation and talked to the kid's parents.

I was ready to ask for a report, but.......... I wasn't injured nor I want my Z to be on record for an accident (yet).

It would of been nice to have you for a witness, but kinda hard to flag down a twin turbo Z speeding down the highway.

I think i must have broken some track record also. for the slowest car there. lost every race, even to stock civics. 16.9@95 was my best, lol

gotta work out the gremlins out of this thing

Damn that sucks Sheldon. Well at least the bumper doesn't carry a VIN number like other parts of the car so it will be as good as new. Maybe you can get some expensive ricer body kit so you can cruise the Focus shopping center with everything else stock like a teenage FOB. And on top of that I didn't catch any sharks last night.

I blame you for giving me the incentive to try LACR. Just joking

I'm just going to have the kid pay for the rear bumper + paint + installation, it doesn't look like it will exceed over a thousand (maybe around $700 - $900). It should only take a few hours to remove the rear bumper and install a new one..................(at least from my experience it aint hard to remove front and rear bumpers )
