The one upside to all this is that I may end up with the new Nismo V2 front bumper.

Last time I was there, I saw a bone-stock Matrix (not sure if it had an Avis badge on it) but you can run in any car you want. Can you rent a Z??? *lol*

LOL! I've seen a PT Cruiser and Sentra at a couple I did! Hilarious. And some sneaky/smart guy waited to do his full service on his Benz, got a loaner from the dealer for the weekend, and then tracked that.

I must be on crack, this is the first time I've noticed this thread.
Hmmm now I'm thinking hard about going. Been to Streets of Willow twice in the last month so why not fill up my entire holiday season with track time.
Does anyone have any idea how long the instructors will be in your car? All morning or for a few laps or is the school all morning with cornering/skidpad exercises?
Anyone staying saturday nite too? It's a long drive to the OC after a full track day.

Jimster, this is the email I got from BW 2 days ago.
From: Lesrace@aol.com

Subject: Re: Buttonwillow 12/17 clinic
Iris,
There is heavy involvement the first few times and then it is more upon your request. If you like, you can arrange to have an instructor virtually every time in the car.

Thanks Iris.
I should ask them if they have an instructor small in stature to hurdle the door bar from the cage to sit in the passenger seat.
LOL family and friends better expect small and cheap xmas gifts.

I called and cancelled my reservation. Apparently, there's a 20 people wait list, so I'm sure they are going to call up the first in line. I'm definitely going to the next one, which is apparently in March. I hope you guys have a lot of fun on the 17th and decide to go to the next one as well!

It is with great regret and some embarrassment that I have to say that I must pull out of the track event this coming Saturday. I was really looking forward to going out on the track with you guys. I asked whether I ccould get someone from this site to take my place but they did not let me since there is like a 25 person waiting list. She did mention however that there will be another event on March 5th. Anyhow, be safe and have fun...

There was a stock looking Honda Accord the last event I went to. It was one fast Accord since I couldn't catch it even on straight aways LOL. Then again, I only had my foot half planted on the gas. (I have to last the 30 minute sessions in 120F weather)
Anyways, goodluck to you all that are going on the 17th. I unfortunately can't make the event, I couldn't finish my project car in time. I should be able to make the March event.

Don't hesitate to call upon the instructors for advice as often as you'd like. We get bored just standing around, although sometimes I'll head out onto the track in my own car to mix it up with the students and see how they're doing. As of now, I plan to be there, and I have some Z experience on this track - and lots of Buttonwillow experience in general.

also, i guess the group rate is no more; check out this email i got from the track:
Matt,
You are enrolled but not at a group rate. The group rates have been
terminated as the rules for group rate procedures were not followed by the 350 crowd.
Group rates were never to be initiated by internet broadcasts and a few people
were not honest with us. If that is a problem for you we need to know as there
are 30 plus people on our waiting list.

Have fun, be safe, and learn allot.
We, (VRT) and our customers have run tons of track days at Willow Springs (streets and big Willow), Calif. Speedway, Spring Mountain, and Buttonwillow, etc.
I am so glad that there is (finally) some more Z and G owners that are showing more of an interest in tracking their cars. Buttonwillow is probably one of my favorite all time roadcourse tracks. I hope you all learn allot and have fun. Maybe we will start seeing more of you show up at more track days in 2006.
