I take the road every so often. I live in Chino but work out in Anaheim... it's about a 30 min drive through there in the mornings though.

anyone ever notice the huge mountain paved in cement to the right of the road as you're traveling east through the canyone?

Let's see if any of the old school SoCal residents remember what it's for?

Yeah, I take it from Brea to my buddys house in Chino Hills. More like a freeway since they built all the new houses just east of the 57. I feel sorry for the people trying to get out of their driveways during rush hour traffic.

Nope, That's the home of the one and only SoCal man made skiing! It was a failed experiment in the 70's where they built a ski mountain with the fake grass and a rope tow... heard it was pretty popular while it lasted

Definitely a great road. I love taking my bike through there. Nice practice runs. Be careful because every so often I do see brea police waiting at the end of the canyon. An chino police on the other. I got my first fix it ticket there.

It might actually have been earlier then the 70's when it was in use. A friend and I used to hike up it in (I'm estimating) 1971/72, and it was in disrepair at that time. There was a hippy commune at the foot of the fake slope.
