Just today my driver side window will not roll down or even go down the inch it does when you open the door so I may need a driver side window regulator..any ideas since I am way over my warranty.

WTF woke up today and I usually lower the window and forgot it was not working and noticed the window worked for me....Why did it not work yesterday but today it did. I'm afraid I may get caught with the window down and unable to close it.....
Get it fixed, mine started that way and has just gotten worse, I think it is the motor, it seems that if you can get it to go all the way down it will come back up like nothing is wrong or if you let the car sit it seems to work but it will start to get worse luckily I don't leav eit out much so no too bad but I will have to break down and get one.

I always go to Mikes Auto Glass on Alameda between Nadue and Florence, next to Tam's. Had my old Prelude, Eclipse & BMW fixed their all relating to window ratteling or motor problems......My BMW had a bad motor that the dealer wanted to charge me $450 plus labor...they got me a rebuilt BMW motor and charge me $80 installed.
Its an idea ..... I know some dismateling yards that may have your motor...Ill call tomorrow and let you know how much. It may just be cheaper to get it fixed than replacing it!

The impound yard I manage is owned by Pick Ur Part so I may be able to find a wrecked Z with our sister yards.....I found a wrecked Z at one of our yard and got a HID ballast and bulb for less than 25 bucks....try that at the Stealership as the bulb alone goes for over 200 and the ballast over 400...Thanks Edgar good looking out

I can roll it down and up and its ok, EXCEPT if I roll it all the way down. In which case it won't go up unless I bang on the door. Also, if its been in the sun, the window creaks as it rolls down and it will just stop rolling down, but I can hear the motor keep going. If you wiggle the glass, it slides down the bottom. Then you have to pound the door to get it to go back up...
Same problem?

Yeah, all Z's have the window assembly/motor go out a few times... It should be under warranty, just take it in to Performance, but call ahead to make sure they have the parts in stock so they can do it while you wait.
My warranty died about 1k miles before this started acting up. Though I did have the motor die way back 7k miles into the car... I don't know if its they are related though.
When my last motor went on the passenger side, the window used to drop down and had free play also. Can't say for sure if it was just the motor though, since they repaired it under warranty. If it's the same side as last time, you may try to get it covered still? I believe parts are 1-year warranty?
