Hi guys,
I tried out a new shop for my car since work/school/life these days make it hard for me to get to Performance Nissan. After work on Wedn. I dropped by Corner3 Garage to make an appt to get my diff & tran oil changed. Luckily they were able to accomidate me before they closed. I was hesitant going to a shop that I just found by driving by and without any recommendations from fellow Z’ers. Before I moved to Cali, I had a great mechanic in MD my family and friends used for repair and services and you guys know how hard a good shop is to come by. Anyways, the head mechanic, Steve Jun, is a Nissan master tech that has been in the automotive field for 15+ years so I was confident on him working on my car. There are 2 lifts and a space to work on another car, not much of a waiting room but that didn’t really matter since I was hanging around the bay watching anyways. Steve is very meticulous when he was working on my Z i.e. making sure the lift points were exact to the closest mm, checking the Redline oil I brought in to make sure the weights were correct, my driving habits and if I had issues with the tranny or diff. This aspect made me feel at ease and know I am in good hands. The job done was great and very professional. I was even able to talk with him about coilovers and different setups.. he even knew about Silkroad c/o which is still new to our platform. So basically, if you need service done to the Z and live in the OC area Corner3 is the place to go. I know how helpful reviews of places can be on the boards and I hope you guys will also give Corner3 a chance. A+ service. Here's their website for reference http://www.corner3garage.com Btw, does anyone know who's 350ZTT is in the Gallery?
Redline
In the change I used 2qts of 75W90 gear oil in the diff and 2qts of MTL and MT-90. Initially after the change the gearbox felt the same as before.. a bit tight. After a few miles, shifting felt much better, smoother is the word to use in this case. It does make me feel like I had a brand new transmission. I haven’t noticed anything when I changed the diff oil but I do want to mention this; when Steve drained the oil, it was black and I have 12,500 miles on the OD. I am happy I took the advice of others and changed it before the scheduled 50k. The girl is happy and riding her makes it that much more enjoyable.
Hope this helps. Pz.

I also just did my trans and diff w/ the exact same redline weights that you used and i really didnt and still dont really feel a huge difference. I really dont get the whole "new transmission" feeling. Im beginning to think that the dealership either didnt do it. Or jacked my redline and put some sh!tty product in instead...
That was my TT in the Gallery and they do an awesome job on everything that comes their way. They pulled my entire engine and put back in the built block I had and reinstalled my TT. When everything was said and done the car put down great numbers. 505rwhp and 495 torque. Unfortunately the car is totalled and I am in the process of parting it. But back to your post, I would take my car back there in a hearbeat. I know Steve and Nima very well and they take care of the customer!
