B, do you think its better to start another thread now that we have the date and potential route setup? Title it "official" or "final" and we can put all the pertinent info up there. It gets rid of all the clutter since this thread is/was used mainly for planning. HyperSprite can do the same thing for the Norcal section, since I think he's taking care of those guys.

For you guys planning the route up from SoCal, check out 154 between SB and Los Olivos, I have driven it a few times and it's cool, better than just straight freeway and does not take any longer.

Thanks for the suggestion, Chris. Seems like a good choice of road. I remember taking that road when we went to Solvang, but that was several years ago. How does everybody else feel about it? Either way should be cool.





Blue area shows the 154 that Chris (HyperSprite) suggested. Purple is the current route we are taking.

 

Guys please let's make this a safe and Police friendly caravan so we won't have any trouble with Johnny Law. Please refrain from racing each other down the highway and drive responsibly....thanks

Haha...no problem. I went ahead and started writing out the OFFICIAL thread info. I'm pretty much done with the socal section. If you want I can send you a copy of it to see if anything needs to be revised.

I also received a PM from Chris (HyperSprite) who will help coordinate the norcal guys. Once I get the confirmation from him we'll go ahead and make both new threads with all the official information.

I've driven 154 a few times, and yeah, it's a nice road. The only thing to worry about with a large group of cars, is the possibility of people splitting up once you exit and hit a few stoplights.

Also, I've been told that 154 is a commuter road in SB and the popo hold fundraisers from time to time. It's mostly a one lane road, but there two lane sections for passing, so just a word of caution for anyone.
