Default M1 Autobody --> Dishonesty

Anyway here is my little venting for the day, I called up M1 Autobody in El Monte for a appt. to install my hood pins to fix the problem with my hood, and so I didnt have to do the job myself.

Well I call up and the lady at the front quotes my 50$ and it would take about a hour, I ask what time is best, and she replies whenever.

So I had some stuff to do in Tustin so I had to take the 45 min trip up to M1 and get the stuff done Sat since I would be out of town for a week.

So I get to M1 walk in and tell them I had a appt to get some sparco hood pins installed for 50$, she quickly replies 50 $ !!! I never heard of it being 50$, and continues to argue with me for 15mins, then she continues by going to into another one of the buildings and comes back saying its 80$ + labor, WTF !

So your going to quote me a price over the phone and then when I drive all the way to get there you are going to play stupid and up the price. . .

So watch out for the these guys there very shady and they wont be getting any of my business, so vendors if your going to quote someone a price keep it at the price you quoted them

So if you have to do business with M1 Autobody I higly remommend that you get the quote in writting with a name.

. . .ok vent over

I'm going to forward this to them so that they see this. I know some of the guys at M1 and they are good guys. George and Alex to be exact.

Yeah, sometimes you really need to get the name of the person you spoke with. They have M1 AUTOBODY, M1 AUTOSPORTS, DTM AUTOBODY AND DTMAUTOHAUS running by the same people. Many times they run around between these shops and might have wrong information from different shops. It has happened to me before but I had the name of the person so they were able to verify the price with him.

M1: The quality of your paint job is top notch but your prices are insanely expensive.

I got service there a few times. They've done a great job for me so far. But you have to careful about the stupid chick that works there. She gave me an OTD price and argues with me when I went to pick up my car that she has to charge me extra for using a debit card/credit. She tried that 2nd time around too. She gives a good business a bad name. I'll be going back there to get my front repainted soon.

M1 is a great place to get things done and their customer service is unmatchable. However, I have heard stories about this girl. Next time just speak to someone else or get a name with the quote.

Ive heard bad things about m1 autobody. im not going to say anything right now but needless to say they seem to be negligent about many things when it comes to you being satisfied and having the job done right. plus they are a money hungry body shop...like allot of body shops are unfortunately..

well I was told to talk to Alex but I ran into the girls at the front first.

and I wouldnt of even driven up there if I knew this would of happened

and it was just some hood pins, but the price wasnt the point, the point is you dont change a price on some one after you already gave them a price, and the drive that was out of my way

Rickdogg - I was planning on trying Mobworks instead anybody I should be directed too ?

I've dealt with Miguel@MOB and I have nothing but good things to say about them. Was there an instance where they did bad work?

It's too bad what happened to you. I would suggest stick with those that are recommended to you hehe

I have never dealt with Mob before, but i've heard Miguel is the person to talk to as he is the owner.

I've gotten my wing painted and installed from MOB WORKS. They have the cheapest price in town and the color matching was excellent. I would recommend them. They also charged me tax on top of the OTD price but it was only $15 or so, no biggy. just get the pricing down, with tax included.

Only place I wouldn't recommend would be Shine Street.. painted my sides about 2 shades brighter, which I have to get repainted.
