Irvine: Anyone want to grab drinks after work? (week of 6/19)
I'm looking to meet some new people and Z's/G's. I just moved into the area and started a new job last week. I'm 30, married, and my wife is about to start her surgical residency at UCI on Friday. So I should have plenty of time on my hands.
Anyone want to grab a beer after work some time this week? Or maybe this weekend? I can fill you in on how lackluster the Portland Oregon Z scene is.
I work near the Irvine Spectrum (Alton & Jeronimo) and live over in Anaheim Hills (Serano & Weir Canyon) so I can pretty much meet up anywhere between the two.
Anyone game?

I am new to this forum, but I am a bartender at Ranch Santa Margarita's Canyon Fireside Grille. I would love to have fellow Z owners come to the bar. I'll take good care of ya.

Holy crap. It would take a good 2 weeks to get this many posts in the Northwest region forum. lol
Something near John Wayne seems to be the most central. I'm still re-learning where the good places are so I need help finding a spot. The only thing I know over there is the El Torito across the street and I know they have a bar.
Why don't we shoot for El Torito on Wednesday after work. Meet up in the parking lot betwen 5:00-5:30PM-ish and then mosey in for drinks?
Let's start with that unless someone has another place close by that would be better. We can have a more formal meet with more advance notice another time.
Grommit - Job search went well. I got 2 offers and chose a nice web dev position. I started last week so I'm learning but so far so good! Thanks for asking.

El Torito
18512 MacArthur Blvd
Irvine, CA 92612
It's right across the street from the John Wayne entrance on the McArthur/Business Center Dr intersection. Can't miss it. Heading south on McArthur I think you need to go past it to Michelson Dr and either bust a U-turn or head in a block and then go left. Either way, it's easy to find.

Work on Redhill, so between South Coast Plaza and John Wayne, but I live in Pomona. Can't make it this time, but I'll definitely try to make it next time.
So what type of web dev do you do? I own a web design company outside of my full time job so if you are interested in more of like freelance / part-time 2nd job, feel free to contact me. I'm always interested on meeting some fresh minds.

No prob. We'll catch you next time. I'm mostly classic ASP and SQL w/ the usual javascript and vbscript. Moving towards .NET. More than that of course, but in a nutshell that's what I've been doing for the past 6-7 years. Let's talk the next time we both make the same meet.

maximXL,
I am a network administrator, but likes programming on the side. I guess you are a pro in writing stored procedures.
My last job, I had to both tasks, so I got more interested in programming.
