Are you driving through the 4th street and Tustin Avenue intersection (santa ana) at 715AM?

If I'm late for work and at that point of the drive at that time, it never fails. That exact scenario plays out. Even with a motorcycle cop watching from 100 yards away.

Anyways...

My thoughts on traffic and bad drivers (as if any of you wanted to read them):

Bad drivers:
1. People aren't paying attention near as much as they should
2. People aren't nearly as considerate as they were even 10 years ago.
3. I think people feel more rushed (in life) and therefore feel they need to speed along the highways during their regular commute at 85+ mph.

Traffic:
1. Blame tailgaters. IMO, this is the number one target group that the police need to issue citations for. Because of the obscene amount of tailgating on the freeways:
1a. there will be more accidents (less response time for <emergency> braking)
1b. much worse traffic/gridlock because no one will be able to (nor allowed to) merge or change lanes. And this ties into driver courtesy, too, since people seem much less willing to slow down to that extra car-length that would allow others to merge or change lanes.
Personally, I want enforced a minimum 3 car-length spaces between cars on surface streets and 5-6 car-length spaces between cars on freeways.

2. Cal-Trans...
I know of more than one freeway interchange section that is completely FUBAR because of too many lanes/people being forced to merge in too short a time.
2a. A good example is the 55 North where the 405 meets. At that point on the 55 North, there will be (1) the 405 South entering on the left, (2) the 405 North entering on the left, (3) MacAurther BLVD traffic entering from the left. And all this is accomplished over about 100 Yards of the 55 freeway with more than 1 lane ending with a forced merge. Not conducive to traffic flow at all.

Thumbs down

I could write a novel about what I've seen, experienced and heard.
It is a sad and truly unsafe thing that some of these idiots who shouldn't be allowed to even sit behind a wheel let alone start the engine are allowed to.

Friend victim of hit and run last Friday...guess they were just in a hurry to get to work...whatever "W" moron "M"

How many times do you see "L"osers using the emergency shoulder as the fast lane?

arg...

Around here I see MANY driver who think the red arrow stand for stop (maybe) look and just turn ANYWAY on RED. Oh my!

I'd move out to the middle of no where & ride a horse that eats oats instead of gas if I could make my living out there...just give me a few years!

Anyone see that bumper sticker "I survived driving in Monterey Park." ? Drivers there suck...not that they're being dicks or anything, but alot of the fobish drivers are just plain terrible at driving over there!

Nervous drivers make me nervous....the ones that have blinkers on for 2 minutes and are undecided...I give them space to merge over, I give them time. Ofcourse when my patience runs out, I just speed up to try and catch up with the rest of the traffic in my lane. It never fails...this is when they try and finaly merge over. Dammit.

Sacramento should stop wasting time with exhaust tickets and spend time crushing drunks' and uninsured motorists' vehicles.
