I will be sending out PMs to all of you with more details in the days prior to the drive. I will provide maps/directions. As usual, if you have FRS radios, you should bring them. Radar detector equipped folks are a plus . See you there!

It's cool with me, but I kinda want the Zs to stay in a "pack". All others should lead or follow. FYI, with the group as large as it is now, I did not invite the motorcyclists. I'm trying to keep our run as safe and manageable as possible, and motorcycles may complicate things. I hope this does not let anyone down

Cool, I'll tell him to stay in the back since it gets progressively slower as you get to the back of the pack. Can hardly wait.

Ganz, etc:

A suggestion for the run-

Looks like a large number of us are planning on going (i'm still unsure).

Either way, it might be good to split the group into two smaller groups..or a "fast" group, and a "cruise" group. It might simplify things due to outside circumstances which may divide up the group as a whole. (traffic lights, other traffic, etc)

Thats a good idea. I think it depends on the number of people who show. With a group of 12, a pair of 6 would work well. If anything, just having two group leaders would help the organization of the trip.

Meanwhile, can I get some votes/suggestions on a lunch location?

Note: If we leave close to 9 AM we can complete this run before 12 PM. So it may not be necessary to eat midway through the route.

I would like to join you guys if it's cool. Only thing is that I haven't even broken the car in yet. Also, I am waiting for a new tranny and a drive shaft (don't ask!!!) to be replaced next week. So, put me on the list if possible. Thx.

I'm still wondering if all of us are meeting at Alang's house for a starting point. Reason is I haven't been on this route before and by joining up with those of you who have would be better for those newbies. I also agree about having two groups of those who want to burn rubber and those who want to just cruise.

Don't worry. You can go at your own pace that you are comfortable with. With this many cars showing up it is not going to be that fast.

I did a run through julian with the Z club of san diego. I had to lead as the only 350z, cuz all the other cars were burning their brakes up!! I plan to be very close to the front cuz I love to tear up the mountainside....

Lowfuel, we will miss thee ... and thy DB Z.

I'm trying to get some details finalized about our meeting point. Alang has volunteered his home, but I have to get word from him to confirm this. For now, assume we are meeting at his place (or at least somewhere nearby). I will send out PMs to each of you with finals details tonight or tomorrow.

BTW if anyone wants to borrow my camera mount just let me know.
You can use it two ways:
1. mount your camcorder there and film the drive
2. mount your digital camera there and set it to snap a photo every 30 seconds, or whatever interval your camera lets you. get a nice time lapse and hopefully a few good action shots out of it.

PM me if you're interested.

May I ask what website or software is used to generate such a map where it give the route and the points inbetween like the 2,3,4,5,and 6 here in this map. I found a mappoint thing on msn.net, but i don't know how to get multiple destinations. Wondering if anyone could possibly help me out here.

MS Mappoint about $200 or MS Streets and Trips about $40. From menu bar select Route and then Route Planner. You may also right click a point in the map and select add route as a Start, Stop, or End point.

i found something very similiar to that on mapquest.com. thank you for your replys gentlemen!

on mapquest, there is a trip planner feature where it is basically the same thing. enter the start point, destination points and end points. there are other's like it out there, but one feature that i found mapquest does better than anyelse out there(that is free and on a website) is find the intersections. other websites require an address of some sort and map.msn.com doesn't find intersections very well, atleast not as well as mapquest.

Can we do one of those meet @ 9 - 9:30 things? Where people show up and hang out until 9-30 ish and then the run starts. Also, when you PM me I'll give you my cell #. Also, what's the expected time it'll take on a Saturday morning for me to make it to Alang's house from Mission Valley?

I might be going down to Mexico on Friday night and so I want to give myself as much leway to get to the meet as possible. Thanks for any consideration!

See y'all Saturday!
