Actually SLK AMG 55 is slower than E55 AMG. SLK AMG only has v8, e55 has a supercharged v8.

B/c I posted the exact same comment around 3 posts before.

 

I said that because it was clear to some that they did not understand that just having a ton of HP and a car with grip is all you will ever need to beat someone. And that they could never make it round a track at any where near your time. The S2000 showed that in that video.

Factors to think about:

1) The cars weight. This could prevent it from safely going faster than a certain speed range in tight turns, where a lighter, less powerful car can go faster

2) Driver's skill. It's entirily possible that even with all the power and grip the driver simply doesn't know how to drive "fast"

3) Driver's pucker factor. And for those with any real knowledge of street racing AND get the POINT OF THIS THREAD--this is what happened with the E55 today.

He was willing to drive like a fast, non-caring a$$ tool as long as the road was straight, he was thinking "I'll show this slow japcrap how it's done, another 350z kill".

I've done this too many times with guys driving cars WAY more powerful and that handle better on *this* road. They are all attitude and huff until they see me pass them on the turns OR hug their a$$ Touge style through the turns. (that happens with the guys that know more what they are doing)

Thank you for the schooling. Can I have my head back? Just an honest mistake. Without comparing the numbers and taking both for a quick spin, I felt the SLK was faster around the corners. I guess I better do my homework.

Thank you for pointing out my mistake in a less "you're a dumba$$" fashion. Its much appriciated this way instead the public degradation.

 

haha it's always fun messin with AMG benzes. i was rollin with my friend(wrx) and this old *** dude in a S55 AMG started to mess around us, so we all started going at it but damm... that AMG is pretty quick. He probably paid like well over $100k for that benz but messin with wrx's and Z's is not where u wana be.

 

Did I miss something? S55 AMG would dog the s**t out of you. Lets not get ridiculous here.

S55 does 0-60 in 5.6sec so ur sayin it would eat up modded 350Zs and wrx's??? doesn't make any sense. maybe u got it mistaken as SL55 or a SL65, now i wouldn't mess with those. S55 is a supercharged version of the full-size S-class model if u didn't know. let's not diss on our own cars =)
