I work from 5am to 2pm, so I head off at around 4:20 in the dark. Saw a cracked rim, but I was going 80 so all I could do was control my car and let it hit the side of front bumper without spinning out. My body kit was scratched up and now has hairline cracks.

In the rain a few month ago when it was pouring cats and dogs. Some stupid truck in front of me without it's back closed dropped an empty tool box. No one was behind me so I decided to get out of its way instead of having it plummet straight through my windshield as it bounced up and down. Result: I drifted left and right and it caught my driver side rear bumper and cracked it. Well, at least I didn't have to replace my windshield and it missed my rims by millimeters.

Why can't ppl just tie their **** down? Or drive a van instead of a pickup truck?

yea i was driving a couple weeks ago on the 5fwy in irvine at night when a busted tire on the freeway. cracked my front bumper. im a claims adjuster for auto so i know how the process work.

first of all, chp will not take a report if there is no injury. your insurance company could care less if you had a report or not when filing a claim. the police report would only be necessary if there is a liability dispute. you actually could file a police report though and you wouldnt have to notify dmv since it is a comprehensive claim.

my car is in the shop right now getting repaired. i decided to get the aerosync bumper and spoiler since it is getting repaired. so at the end of the story. it kinda worked out for me because of the fwy debris butit still sucks. i wouldnt want to deal with it again.

Default Seen things that have killed and could have killed...

I knew a guy who hit one of those truck couplers that enables a truck to pull another trailer, (thing has wheels with coupler). He hit it at night. Poor guy lived but one of his passengers (his parent) was killed (of course he was emotionally distraught over it). I've avoided a like situation - it was the end/second trailer of the truck. It was so big, I saw it but was shocked to see it not moving - the truck had left it. This was SB on the 405 B4 the transition to the 10 Fwy. Scary! Recently, called CHP about a bale of hay on the 14Fwy. Sure that could have caused much injury if struck full speed.... Lesson learned - be alert and use your phone to get the cops to clear the stuff.

Wow, same thing happened to me. Apparantly the M-brace is cheap, so you shouldnt have a problem replacing it, I guess its purpose is related to handling. My car is a step worse, the undercarriage got dented up and I have to go to a body shop. Exhaust has a leak and dents too.

Yeah... I almost ran over a tire rubber piece that fell off of someones wheels. Good thing the Z is small, i was able to swerve out of the way without crossing the lane. Then cruisin about 3 more miles, i saw a blanket on the road, and i managed to dodge that also.... Gotta keep your head up.

I haven't hit anything in the Z yet, but this happened to my Eclipse after hitting something on the freeway at night.

(sorry for the really small pic)

Dammit just today on the 605 transition to the 405 South I ran over something and it bent my rear wheel. I took pics but yet to DL them on my computer. I had to have my car towed and the rear wheel is bent and the tire has a large chunk on the sidewall missing......i am soooo pissed but it could have been worse...Pics when I get home tonight...

Yeah I gotta contact Axis and see if they can help me but I doubt it. I seen the damn thing at the last moment and it kinda resembled a alternator or something. The bang of the hit made me imagine my bumper was thrashed but after my TPS showed no air pressure I knew it was my tire. When I got out the rear driver wheel had a fist size chunk missing and that is what let all the air out. When I get home tonight I'll post the pic so you can see the damage....hey man no worries for the antenna.

we are a band of brothers who have damaged our cars in the name of freeway travel, we must stick together and invent radar for the Z.

A semi blew a tire and it took out my front bumper, the rear m shaped brace and my rear bumper, and the plastic cover under the engine. It def sux's. And just so you all know if you report it to your insurance make sure you tell them it was moving(whatever you hit) if it was just sitting still in the road it goes against your collision coverage and can jack up your rates. If it was moving it goes under comprehensive and doesnt affect your rates. Plus most have lower deduct's on comp.

Those pics you posted Mick are worse than I thought but lucky for you it did not cause you any trouble like towing or serious damage. I actually thought of you when this happened....damn freeways don't like Lemans or what
