Default It's a Go! Streets of Willow Aug. 12 & 13

I ran with Bonni's group, T.E.A.M. Racing at Buttonwillow in May, and I will vouch that it's a great group, laid back with lots of track time and an emphasis on safety. I plan to be there and I hope some of you track hounds will come out to. Here's Bonni's e-mail on the event with sign-up info:

We decided that we have enough interest to go for this event at the Streets of Willow in Rosamond Calif. on the weekend of August 12th and 13th. Cost is $150 for one day, $275 for both days, and includes, as always, catered lunches, Gatorade and bottled water, healthy snacks, instruction, and lots of track time!. Just think . . . fun, tight 1.8 mile (what I fondly call a "big giant autocross") course to really put your car to the test and greatly improve your personal high performance driving skills! Registration and tech forms are on the website at http://www.onemain.com/~bonster/schedule.html

She got this event at the last minute and needs to cover some expenses quickly, so PayPal might be a good way to get the money over quickly (use bonni@weatherwax.net for the contact). Be a little spontaneous, treat yourself to some good ol' fashioned track time. See you there!

***Bump*** Wait a minute -- aren't there going to be any Z cars to toy with? Awwww, come on! Don't tell me you're afraid of a little white Miata racecar. Surely you're not scared of Richard's Evo. What are you guys waiting for??? Lol. Anyway, I hope to see more cars sign up soon.

Sounds like fun. I've really been wanting to try out some track events but I'm really busy and need to install some parts that are sitting in my garage. Hopefully I can get things sorted out before the 12th (I have to work the 13th).

Wow, Wholey Smokes -- you live in Lancaster? Must be really tempting not to live at the racetrack. I can't live in a town any where near a racetrack . . . I'd be sleeping in my racecar just to go play.

People, people, PEOPLE! Are you kidding me? No takers yet from this group?
This is probably the cheapest event around, pretty much, and nobody wants to
go? How come? We only have five drivers right now, but I refuse to cancel.
What does that mean? Well, for you it means more track time than you can
imagine, with very little traffic. For me it might mean no Christmas this
year, but I'm glad to do it if I get to see you all smile. So if you've got
nothing better to do (is there anything better than track time?), do
consider joining us. At this point, this track day will be practically like
having the track all to yourself! Especially the ONE novice group sign up.

***No, we don't rent in-car timing equipment. The reason we don't supply them is in case someone damages their car. If we rent timing equipment, the insurance company might decide that it was a timed or competition event, and not insure someone's car. You are more than welcome to use timing equipment, I just can't supply it. I know some groups do, but I don't think it's a smart idea to provide timing equipment for the insurance considerations mentioned above.
