Default Help!! Sand Or Dirt In My Headlights!

hey guys...just a quick question about something...If you guys dont remember...I crashed my Z on mothers day...(RED G35 Cut me off) So I bought these headlights from this guy on pravite Seller "Lighting"...Anyways I got them in..and checked them out and saw that they had Dirt or Sand in the HEADLIGHT!! and there was also some black stuff on the right side headlight...I was wondering if anyone could tell me a way how to clean them from the inside...of course I have to open them...but how?? and is there a seal? HELP!! sorry about the pics...there not uploading right...will try later...

It may sound funny, but you have to bake them in an oven for 5-10 min. The glue seal will break down and you can slowly pry the housing from the lense using a screw driver. Remove the dirt/sand and while your in there clear the amber reflector. Put together, bake it for another 5 min, remove from oven, squeeze housing and lense together for a tight seal and install a small line of silicone around the edges. Your done.

put them on a wet towel or something .. if you stick them in there alone .. it will burn through your plastic pieces .. and you can also use epoxy to seal it back up ..

Do a search on the Modification pages....I remember seeing complete instructions on this...you dont want to do this blindly! Get some supporting instructions. Good luck.

installation info:

http://www.ricks2k.com/info/install.php

Find the 350z and save the adobe file.

Doesn't look too hard, get some new diffusers while you have the headlight assembly open...mine are on the way!

I used a hairdryer to heat them up on one of my previous cars since I was too scared to put them in the oven. I've heard of plenty of people using the oven successfully, though.
