Default Feeler: Dana Point Meet

Hello everyone, I have had a few people hit me up about forming a meet in Dana Point. I am just trying to see how many people would actually be interested in doing this. So far, we are shooting for a Sat. Maybe the 26th of this month, roughly 10am. This is obviouly not final, just trying to throw a date out there. It would be in the Dana Point Harbor, which there is plenty of parking and spots for a bbq. It's basically right on the beach, so it would be a fun day in the sun I will try to post some pics of the spot and get a map up as well. Please let me know if your interested. Thanks!

Branden, you know i'm in like gin man. Just make sure you post pictures of the place, its a good spot (nice scenery and beach), very nice place to just relax and hang out. I would just be concerned about the harbor clubs and the residents complaining. Make sure you let them know just in case. I say, just an idea to shoot out, that we all chip in 10 bucks for lunch BBQ (via paypal or something) or maybe order pizzas, who knows. I actually have pics, that i can post later tonight.

These were the only pix i could salvage up when i went down there last of the parking lot. I didnt take pix of the parking lot behind this one but it was just as big and empty. These were taken at around 12:30, a time i think would be busiest. Sorry they are so bad.

The parking for the meet could hold about 100 cars if we needed it to. There was a parking lot that was seriously empty that i didn't get to take a picture of...bout the same size as the one i got a picture of with the Z in it. Regardless of how many people are interested, even if we get like 15 cars, would be a nice scene for a meet.

Very nice guys, I'll go and take some pics today after work. Sounds like this thing is going to be on, the only thing I'm not sure about is food. Is everyone still down for a BBQ? If so, any suggestions on how to organize it. I'm thinking it would be best for everyone to bring what they what to eat. I have no problem bringing some burgers and soda, but other than that I'm not sure. Let's get a roll call started.

It's going to be way tough to get a BBQ organized. Let's just make it a BYOG. Bring your own grub.

I just went to a BBQ meet last week at Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro, and it was awesome. A BBQ meet isn't hard at all. There were about 50 people that came, and we started a roll call list on the thread, with people listing what they will bring for the meet. Some people brought chips, cookies, some brought sodas and drinks, and others brought the grille and hot dogs / burgers. Others even brought a case of chicken and wings from a catering place! It was really cool, and once everyone got there, we put all the food together and everyone shared everything. We actually had way too much food, and many of the snacks weren't even opened and just went back after the meet was over. It shouldn't be a problem to organize a BBQ meet at the beach like that one. I'll start a roll call here so we can get an idea of how many people will be attending, so people can start listing what they will bring, and so we will know how much food to bring.

I have a suggestion. Figure out what everyone wants first (make a list, number of each item to bring....for example there may be more items for hotdogs than silverware since 1 person only needs 1 pair of silverware but may eat more than 1 hotdogg). Once we have everything figured out, people can sign up (or u can designate them) to what is on the list that way everyone wont bring the same stuff. Or go back to the original plan and everyone for themselves.

Well, here's a few pics of the Harbor. This should give you a general idea of where it's going to be at. I went down there today, and it seems like there will be plenty of parking.
