Default Hot Import Nights coming to LA

Ok, Aug 19th is HIN at the LA Convetion Center

http://www.hotimportnights.com/events/

Los Angeles Convention Center
8/19/2006
5pm to 12am
1201 South Figueroa St.
Los Angeles, CA 90051

Anyone from the southern area up for this? I have yet to attend one and do not know what to expect but I am definitely in on this.

Let's find a meeting place in the Irvine'ish area for a group get together and drive up. Chino, you guys in??

LA one sux ballz in regards to traffic.. you'll have to go 3 hours early. I prolly be there. It will take you 30 minutes to drive one block. I was drove 2 blocks (1 hr 15 min) and was about to kill everybody, so I left. San Diego one is much more tolerable. I prolly go to the LA one, regardless. Be prepared to pay up to $40 for parking.

uh.....parking should be $10-$15 all day....event is on a saturday so you will not run into that much traffic....maybe just a couple blocks before...not that bad....I havent been to one in awhile but remember to bring your camera....there will be some nice cars and some nicer hot chicks to look at

you are seriously mistaken. I went 1 hour before the show and all the $15~20 were already taken. There are no more $10 parking.. that's long gone. I'm getting there early and finding myself $15 parking. I've been to plenty events at the convention and staple center - E3 for 10 years (super crowded), Laker games, Autoshows.. and HIN, by far was the most miserable experience I've had, in terms of traffic.

why must we argue about everything at my350z.com? HIN traffic will PWN e3 traffic. barely anybody carpools cuz they want to take their own car. 110, 5 and 10 will be clogged 2 miles before the offramp. I will be camping out the night before.

yup. there is a whole slew of them just waiting around the corner like vultures. it's best to carpool there on a car that is not so....eye-catching. you see them on their squad cars salivating at exhaust noise tickets, front window tickets, non-carb compliant tickets, etc....and yes they WILL pull you over in your c/f dressed car and make you pop your hood and question everything thatis shiny or that makes any 'funny' noises.

Does anyone have a shop or know of a shop with a large lot that we can park in and carpool? Are there shuttles that run that area? How far is Status or any of "Local" shops in that area? You know, I am an OC boy and very seldom go past the OC curtain! =)
