Engine oil Leaking from underbody
Hey guys,
I went to Douglas Nissan of HB for my 15,000 maintenance. I drove about 75 miles in 3 days and found out that my car was leaking engine oil in my garage. It seemed like a lot so I checked the dipstick after following the manual instructions and the engine oil level is 1 inch higher than the "H" line on the dipstick. I'm wondering if it's spillage b/c of too much oil or is it b/c they didn't screw the bottom cap securely. I think they put too much engine oil. Anybody have this problem before and what did you do? Please advise. Thank you.

Take lots and lots of pictures... Also make sure you kept your service receipt.
I would TRY to find out where the leak is coming from. Poke a flashlight around and snap pics of anywhere you see oil. It might help to jack up a corner of the car to get a better view, but be careful and don't physically stick your head under the car if it's only supported by the stock jack.
My guess is something simple like they neglected to replace the copper crush washer on the drain plug. Those washers get crushed rediculously thin, if you do not replace them.
Ultimately I would take the car to another service location, as these guys clearly cannot do something simple as an oil change properly. But for the time being I would go back there, show them the pictures of the leaky oil (and with any luck it will drip on their property) demand they do a full oil change (again), demand to watch them replace 5.0 quarts and replace oil filter, demand that they replace the crush washer with a new one...

Thanks for the info. I took my car back and the drain plug was not securely tighten. I told them I took pics. They assured me that there was no damage to the car or engine. I guess everyone makes mistakes.
instead of just over-tightening
